His Excellency, President of the Administrative Committee for Iraqi Jews, Respectfully
Baghdad
After greetings,
We attach herewith a copy of the income and expenditure account realized for Ezra Menahem Daniel Stadium from
October 1, 1961 to September 30, 1962, and we also attach a copy of the stadium's financial position as of
9/30/1962, both copied from the stadium's records which were audited by the stadium committee members
and the auditors, Messrs. Whinney Murray & Co.
Salaries and laborers' wages constitute the largest part of the stadium's payments, reaching this year
1241/652 Dinars. Additionally, 223/560 Dinars were paid as raw water fees for two years, as we had
failed to pay raw water fees for one year since we were not requested to pay them at that time.
The amount of 204/525 Dinars spent on repairs and various fees for the fields and gardens includes
the value of an electric lawnmower, the value of ten garden chairs, and a carpet for the administration.
The stadium is still in dire need of much furniture and other sports items,
and lights for the garden and tennis courts. We have previously set aside for this aspect in our estimated budget
by allocating the necessary amounts, noting that they were not all spent, and we must <del>only</del> keep this reserve
for the current year and spend it only if necessary and if it becomes possible for the committee to focus on this aspect.
The Stadium Committee had borrowed from the Administrative Committee during the year ending 9/30/62
an amount of 1600/- Dinars. This amount was added to 726/053 Dinars which remained from
last year, making the total 2326/053 Dinars.
The total stadium expenses for the above year reached 1997/046 Dinars, while the income was
311/787 Dinars, resulting in a deficit of 1685/259 Dinars, which is requested to be charged to the late Ezra
Menahem Daniel Endowment.
We are pleased to have been able to perform what service we could for the sake of the public interest
in implementation of the spirit of the late Ezra Menahem Daniel's endowment.
Please accept our utmost respect,,

Re: Request for Death Certificate
Reference to your letter No. 32221/3822/30 dated 24/10/1962
addressed to the Capital Health Directorate, a copy of which was sent to us regarding the request for a death certificate
for the individual named Bukoud.
We previously replied via our letter No. F/62/287 dated 10/10/1962 to
the Presidency of the Mosaic Community, with a copy to you regarding this matter.
We confirm for the second time that we have not found the name of Mr. Bukoud in the records of my schools,
Laura Kadoorie and Albert Sassoon, where the aforementioned person was studying at the time, given that
the majority of the records for these two schools were lost after they were closed in 1951. We attach
herewith a copy of our letter referred to above for your information.
Please accept the assurances of our highest respect.

Subject - Renewal of employment contracts for members of
the teaching staff of our school
Greetings and respect, further to which, the respected Personal Status Court in Baghdad by its letter
No. 29/Sh/1959 dated 23 / 10 / 1961 had authorized me to contract with my female
and male colleagues for teaching at this school for the current academic year 1961 / 1962 so that
their relations with it do not remain without regulations; thus, I carried out what I was authorized to do on 29 / 10 / 1961 .
During this mentioned academic year, I was able to observe the work and actions of every female
and male teacher closely and freely, a practice I was unable to exercise before for reasons not hidden from your excellencies . As a result of
this observation, it became definitively clear to me that renewing the employment contract of Miss Mazli Daoud ⟦...⟧
the teacher of Mathematics, Objects, and Health, would harm the interests of the school and its female
and male students severely, and would lead many female and male colleagues to leave our school due to the impossibility
of establishing understanding and harmony between them and her on one hand, and between this teacher on the other hand, which is
what I see as my duty to alert you to, so that you may kindly study it seriously and decide upon it before
the end of the current month of September . It was not within my power to write to you regarding the matter of this teacher before today
because the issue of guardianship had not reached its present stage of decision-making .
Among the faults for which this teacher is blamed are those that cannot be overlooked because they touch the core
of her educational work, upon which success or failure in official and school examinations
depends . It has been proven beyond doubt that she solves arithmetic operations incorrectly and consequently
assigns grades incorrectly, leaving the female and male student's future regarding success
hanging on the results of her solutions and corrections . This is in the subject of Mathematics, in which
the arithmetic errors of the teacher are unacceptable . As for the subject of Objects and Hea⟦...⟧
her negligence and recklessness toward it is such that she does not account for errors in talking about agri⟦...⟧
about wheat or the confusion between describing a mosquito and typhoid disease .
And we have drawn her attention time and again to that specifically, and special committees have corrected
her errors in assigning the grades of the class she is assigned to correctly in the notebooks and monthly cards
and monthly average notebooks . However, despite her written admission of her errors, she continued to neglect
correcting her subsequent errors, refusing to comply with the recommendations of the aforementioned audit committees .
This is in addition to her disobedience to the instructions of the Directorate of Education which are conveyed to her successively . Among these
is her refusal to remain at the school daily until the departure hour at noon . And her insistence on leaving the school
at eleven o'clock daily, thereby exposing the administration to the responsibility for her absence in the event of an inspection
of the classes by the Provincial Directorate of Education .
In addition to her refusal to cooperate with her female colleagues in taking turns in emergency cases⟦...⟧ she has
consistently provoked her female colleagues and spoken ill of them with offensive language insi⟦...⟧ the school
and outside it, as she has consistently spread harmful propaganda against the school by defaming her female colleagues
so that harmony between her and them has become completely non-existent . Especially since her defamation of her female colleagu⟦...⟧
has exceeded professional competencies . This administration has sufficient evidence and proof of the validity of
the complaint against this teacher and her unsuitability for teaching therein .
The administration hopes to emphasize to your excellencies, chairman and members, that this complaint requires a remedy

Page 292

p. 2
early on, as shelving it involves risks that touch the core interests of the female and male students individually
and collectively, as well as the core interest of harmony and intimacy among the male and female faculty members.
I hope to receive your response to the above. With thanks and appreciation:
