Description

These are archival documents from the Baghdadi Jewish community, primarily related to Ḥevrah Ḳadishah, the Burial Society. They contain an Iraqi newspaper (al-Tākhay) with an advertisement selling the Ḥevrah Ḳadishah's car because the government froze the society’s assets. Also included are requests about assets from the Administrative Committee for Iraqi Jews to the government and an announcement in the official Iraqi newspaper (Al-Waqā’i‘ Al-‘Irāqiyah) about the Administrative Committee’s role.

Female university students speak
About the national characteristics of Kurdish dress
Kurdish women's fashion embodies vitality and artistic spirit

Question
And here the following question lingers on our tongues: From what angles does the Kurdish girl look at her national dress?.. And is she ready to reconcile modernization and cultural authenticity in her national dress?!
Our fashion embodies our way of life
Student in the second year of the College of Arts, Vian Hussein Bamerni: We must take pride in our heritage, authenticity, and traditions, and she also has the right to exercise her right to preserve these cultural elements.
A simple look at the roots of these cultural elements for us Kurds shows them represented in the depths of our ancient history, and they remain attached to this day in our minds and in our mental and moral formation.
A step towards building a Kurdish theater
By: Jaafar Ali
The theater is able to crystallize the popular will..
When we search for the first step in the process of building Kurdish theater, we must place one [look] at the reality of these institutions, which makes us disregard them all. Because they - all of them - are limited by harsh physical and functional boundaries; routine almost makes these institutions cultural tools incapable of working in their broad dimensions. Therefore, the first step on the path of this construction must start from outside these institutions.
Bayan Kaka Mahmoud
Human societies contribute across various historical stages and despite their different economic systems, their fashion depends on the basis of their environmental conditions and what this environment imposes in terms of morals, ideas, and behavioral values. Perhaps the geographical nature and the style of production relations for a specific society are considered among the main factors in determining the essential dimensions of the national dress and consequently giving it the final patterns of shape, color, and clarity. In Kurdish society, models of fashion crowd across the length of the Kurdish region that at first glance seem to differ in their designs and arrangements according to what each region imposes of considerations partially related to the region, climate, and the beauty of the inhabitants.
Al-Ta'akhi Tour
It is very good to announce to our readers today our study of the subject of contributing to the building of Kurdish theater.
We also feel today the responsibility of the Modern Art Theater Troupe, as those working with it are preparing these days for the idea of producing Kurdish plays as a fulfillment of part of the duty required of them to push and enrich the theater of brotherly nationalities in the Iraqi homeland.
But better than this and that is for a single idea to crystallize among Kurdish officials regarding the necessity of continuous work in order to rescue the Kurdish arts movement in its visual, theatrical, and cinematic fields from its slump that has lasted for a long time and was on the verge of withering, especially during the years of political fragmentation, misery, and hardship that cast their shadows over our Kurdish region for long periods.
Words for you
Civilization is not things that can be collected in museums of human history, but it is behavior before everything else, behavior and a moral stance towards the world, man, and his problems.
For the sake of creating theater in the Arab world
During the past years, many seminars have opened in the countries of the Great Arab Maghreb to study the issues of modern Arab theater..
