Directorate of Education of Baghdad Region
Reference to your letter No. 64 dated January 6, 1932
This council, in cooperation with the school principal, has exerted its utmost effort
at the beginning of the school year to obtain a suitable healthy house larger than this one
occupied by the school at the present time, but did not find one. The council rented the house
current based on the approval of the school principal
It is obvious that the demand that intensified this year for the school
mentioned was because the council was forced due to the financial distress prevailing
over its fund to reject many of the students who wanted to enroll in
our schools for free and who did not apply to other official schools due to their distance from their residences
which made these people flock to Ras al-Qarya school in large numbers for its good reputation
and its proximity to their homes. Therefore, based on the extreme necessity that you presented in your letter
mentioned above, and despite the financial tightness prevailing over the council's fund
it has agreed to pay half of the rent for a small house to be attached to the mentioned school
to include the other classes that the school is too narrow to accommodate, and your respected directorate shall
pay the other half of the rent and provide it with teachers. In our opinion, the principal of the school of
Ras al-Qarya is ready to manage the mentioned school, which will not
cost the Education Department the search for a new principal

In the name of the people, in the lawsuit
6621 against Rita Lada, wife of 3 Wafi Latam 32 Wafi Kolta and what is in Lada
This is a lawsuit requesting a judgment to rescind the lease contract for the house numbered ⟦illegible⟧ in the Al-Saadoun neighborhood
and the eviction of the defendant and its delivery to the plaintiff vacant of all occupants due to non-payment of the second installment
of the rent amounting to 50 Dinars for the rental year starting from the date of
the rescission of the contract in this lawsuit and the start of the fiscal year
The plaintiff's claim is summarized as follows: pursuant to the presented lease contract, the defendant
has rented the house belonging to the plaintiff numbered ⟦illegible⟧ in Al-Saadoun neighborhood for an annual rent
and according to the mentioned contract, the rent is paid in two equal installments at the beginning of each year
and since the defendant did not pay the second installment amounting to 50 Dinars despite being notified
by the notice numbered ⟦illegible⟧ on ⟦illegible⟧ issued by the Notary Public of Rusafa, therefore
the plaintiff requested a judgment to rescind the lease contract, evict the mentioned house, and deliver it vacant
of occupants, and to charge him with expenses, fees, and attorney's fees. Since the defendant
was notified of the lawsuit and the date of the hearing and did not attend at the appointed time, the hearing proceeded
in absentia against the plaintiff. After examining the evidentiary documents presented in the lawsuit, including
the presented lease contract which proves that the defendant is a tenant of the mentioned house for an annual rent
of one hundred Dinars paid in two equal installments, and since the defendant did not pay the installment
the second of the rent amounting to 50 Dinars despite being notified by the mentioned notice
accordingly, it was decided to rule in absentia against the defendant to rescind the lease contract and evict the mentioned house
and deliver it vacant of occupants and charge him with expenses, fees, and attorney's fees
A judgment in presence regarding the plaintiff and in absentia regarding the defendant, subject to objection and appeal

the amounts spent by the Awqaf Committee until 31/11/1931 and in the elapsed period extending from
the date of commencement of work until the aforementioned date 31/11/1931, it was found that the amounts spent
exceed by an amount of 17 Rupees and 8 Annas the amounts decided in the month of June of the year 1931, so we have decided that
those expenses are moderate and among the urgent necessities

It is no secret to your presence what our school contains of poor students and the order
issued by the Directorate of General Education regarding the necessity of clothing students in national suits of lead
color, and this cannot be achieved without your generous assistance, which is among your well-known traits.
Therefore, I have come to you as a reminder, hoping for a helping hand for the students of today and the men of tomorrow, and your knowledge
of the state of weakness of the Israelite Physical Council and the impossibility of assistance. This is my firm
hope for the fulfillment of my request, and may you remain respected.

The Honorable Dr. Rawitsch, Respectfully,
We enclose herewith the certificate of the ophthalmologist Abdul Aziz Al-Kanafani, who is treating
the student at Ras al-Qarya school, Latif Karji, stating that the student does not require a surgical
operation. Since the director of the aforementioned school has prevented the student from attending school
based on your opinion that the aforementioned required a surgical operation, please perform
a medical examination on him again and provide him with a certificate authorizing him to attend school. The student's
father, the bearer of this letter, pledges that his son will continue treatment without interruption. Sincerely,
