Subject:
His Excellency the President of the Honorable Lay Council
Greetings and respect
With reference to your letter No. 292 dated the 8th of this month, we have
found Dr. Daoud Nassim's proposal to be highly appropriate, and we have no
disciplinary or administrative objection to its implementation. We have noted that it requires adding to each lesson
5 minutes, meaning 7 lessons will be taught in 45 minutes instead of what was
previously 40 minutes per lesson. Your esteemed council will note from this that
the time the student spends in class under the new arrangement is 35 minutes
longer than the arrangement we have been following until now, and this is another benefit added
to the benefits explained by the Doctor in his letter.
We return herewith the letter of the aforementioned doctor. Yours respectfully,
S. F. Kallay

The Honorable President of the Physical Council
Greetings and respect:
I have the honor to present to your esteemed council the following proposal, hoping it will be taken into
consideration, which is:
1 - Given the expansion that has occurred in the capital and the spread of houses in the suburbs and their distance
from the center and from the schools that are located in the city center
2 - Due to the heavy congestion and means of transportation, walking in the streets is no longer free from
danger and risk, especially for young male students
3 - Due to the impossibility of spending winter days with a teaching period of seven lessons daily while providing
an interval of two hours between morning and evening lessons, as there is not enough time
within this period for those living in the city suburbs to return to their homes for lunch, especially since
eating and then returning to school, as they are forced to spend from the morning until
almost shortly after sunset at school and to arrive at their homes after sunset in winter
an hour with sunset or shortly after, and this does not enable them to get an opportunity for rest
for rest, eating, and relaxation..
4 - On rainy days, given the condition of the road, it is not possible for the boys to go to school
and return from it twice in one day, and therefore their guardians prevent them from going first and second
mostly school principals close their doors on those days, and since this is the case, it is requested from the administration

In the current school curriculum, students endure the burden of walking without benefiting from nutrition
And of course, children are deprived of receiving sciences on most winter days, which is the only time
for teaching in our hot country
Finally, if we look closely at all the modern curricula of upscale schools, we find that teaching
is organized in a uniform way for two fundamental reasons: - 1- Giving a period of deprivation to students for
their rest and preparation of their lessons 2- To give an opportunity to conduct some instructions and exercises
outside the school curricula
In order to find measures to prevent the presented hazards and obtain the mentioned benefits
I suggest to your esteemed council, in accordance with modern principles, to issue its order to the community schools
And that at least for the three months of the winter season, which are November, December, and January
To organize the schedule to a single time, provided that the noon time is given a break for a period of half
an hour, to allow the children to consume the food that is provided ⟦with them⟧ or sharing
from the school garden or that which is sent to them by their families
And so if we examine the seven classes on the five as ⟦...⟧ and (40) minutes which are spent
now in schools because the duration of attainment being ⟦...⟧ minutes and if the lesson begins
8 AM, it is possible to leave school at 15 ⟦...⟧ so if your esteemed council agrees to
this proposal, we obtain the result which has the mentioned benefits and fends off the
expected imposed hazards. In conclusion, I hope you will accept my highest respect
Sincerely
