منذ تفضل مجلسكم المحترم بقرضة اربعة آلاف ربية قد استمر بناء مدرسة نورئيل
وبها والآن يمكن ولكن قد ظهر ان المبلغ الذي كنا قد طلبناه حينذاك هو دون
ما يقتضي بصورة ضرورية لاكمال البناء وبحسب الاصول ان نفقات المكنة الكهربائية
اخرى ونظراً الى ضرورة الاسراع في اكمال البناء وجعله جاهزاً في السنة الدراسية
المقبلة <del>⟦illegible⟧</del> فقد جرى عقد جلسة نهار الاحد الماضي واعضاء لجنة اسعاف المدارس
المذكورة بصفة قرضية قد جعلوا من اول واردات تأتي الى هذه اللجنة واننا على كل حال

بمناسبة انتخاب هيئتكم الموقرة تتقدم هذه اللجنة بتبريكاتها الصميمة اليكم وتتمنى ان
يوفقكم الباري تعالى الى ما فيه خير الملة وتقدمها
ان هذه اللجنة قد تشكلت لاول مرة قبل نحو سنة بموجب نظام صدقه المجلس في
حينه وهو لا شك بين اوراق المجلس المحترم وقد واصلت اعمالها منذ تشكيلها وتمكنت من جمع
مبلغاً من الاعانات حسب التفاصيل المبينة في صورة الحساب المقدمة طياً . فيظهر من هذا الحساب
ان اجابة الجمهور لطلب هذه اللجنة في هذه السنة الاولى من تشكيلها مما يستدعي التقدير ويوجب
التشجيع والامل في المستقبل . وقد قامت اللجنة بعملين اساسيين في هذه السنة وهما
اسعاف مدرسة نورائيل بمبلغ ستة الاف روبية واعادة بناء هذه المدرسة :
وقد اضطرها هذا العمل الى استقراض ستة الاف روبية من المجلس المحترم فضلاً عن ان هناك
ديوناً يجب دفعها باسرع وقت وفي ابتداء سنة جديدة ينبغي الشروع في جمع الاعانات من ⟦الآن⟧
وحيث ان المادة الثالثة من نظام هذه اللجنة يقضي بتجديد هيئتها كل سنة في (روش هاشنه)
فنرجو النظر في هذا الامر واعطاء القرار بتجديد الهيئة وفقاً للنظام وقد كان السبب في عدم
اجراء ذلك منذ (روش هاشنه) الى الان عدم انتهاء بناية مدرسة نورائيل في ذلك حين وانحلال
المجلس الجسماني مدة من الزمن ونود نلفت نظر المجلس المحترم ليكون ذلك موضوع اهتمام اللجنة
الجديدة ويكون تجديدها اول عمل تقوم به كما هو لائق باسم الملة

Daer Sir,
We have the honour to inform you that the teaching in the Jewish
Schools of our City is found to be on a level which is far from responding
to the actual needs. Our Communal Council, for some years has made great
efforts to help the needs of the schools by granting them large yearly
subsidies and important extraordinary allocations, but the number of the
pupils increases year by year; the improvement of the teaching personnel
makes itself very much felt and the budgets of the schools disclose a
deficit which increses each year. The pupils fathers seeing that the ins-
truction in the schools is insufficient, send their sons to schools at
Beyrouth,and in Europe. They are people who have the means whilst the
middle class and poor people, find themselves deprived of superior educa-
tions, the situation has become most critical, and many people are unable
to pay the same school fees as in the past owing to bad trade etc.etc.
The Revka Nouriel School is threatened with ruin and the mange-
ment finds itself complled to close it. which means that nearly 500.pupils
must roam in the streets. The revenue of the "WAQF" properties is con-
siderably reduced on account of the decline in the rents. The Communal
Council whose budget cannot remedy this situation has Judged it necessary
to appeal to our creligionists of Baghdad for financial assistance in the
form of yearly subscriptions. For this object it has appointed our
Committee,Viz. "JEWISH SCHOOLS RELIEF COMMITTEE" which composed of five

that when he recently saw you in London, you told him of your
generous intention to send a substantial contribution for the
construction of the school now in hand. Your brother Mr. Menashi
Gourji, through whom the aid was to come, says however that he
has received no communication to that effect till now.
We therefore beg to bring the matter to your notice with the
request that your kind promise may be fulfilled as early as
convenient. The school is nearing completion and the funds
received from you will materially help in expediting the
remaining work, and will serve perhaps also to cover a debt
which we have incurred in pushing the work forward, in antici-
pation of future income, with the urgent object of opening the
school for the pupils not later than October last.

بعد اهدائكم التحية نعرض ان لجنتنا قد اوفدت اليكم قبل بضعة ايام عضوين من اعضائها
الدكتور روزنفيلد وحضوري افندي شكر وكان مدار البحث في هذه الزيارة انها عرضت
على حضرتكم ان تتبرعوا بتكاليف الجناح الشرقي من مدرسة نورئيل لينقش عليه اسم
المرحوم جدكم رحمه الله رحمة واسعة هذا وان لجنتنا ما زالت تنتظر جوابكم
بهذا الخصوص وهنا لا بد لنا من ان نذكر ان تكاليف هذا الجناح هي مبلغ
سبعة الاف روبية ٧٠٠٠ جداً تعتبرها لجنتنا شكراً باتاً على امل في وجود متبرع كريم يتبرع
في هذا المبلغ - فعليه نحن نرى ان الفرصة سانحة لكي تخلدوا ذكر جدكم المرحوم تخليداً
ابدياً ⟦بين⟧ الناس في الحال والمستقبل وذلك مقابل مبلغ قليل ⟦نسبياً⟧ على
امل انكم ⟦تستجيبون⟧ لدعوتنا وتجيبونا باقرب وقت - ونشكر عواطفكم سلفاً
