With reference to the Ministry of Education's letter No. 38302 dated 15 / 11 / 1952 addressed to this Presidency
and a copy thereof to your Ministry.
Please note the following:-
1 - The Laura Kadoorie School building located in the Torah neighborhood mentioned in the Ministry of Education's letter referred to above
had been leased by the Directorate General of Education for a period of one year starting on 15 / 12 / 1951.
2 - The annual rent agreed upon between the Directorate General of Education and this Presidency consists of two parts:-
a - 1000 Dinars (one thousand Dinars) to be paid in cash in a single installment upon signing the contract.
b - 1000 Dinars (one thousand Dinars) to be spent by the lessee on the building for the purpose of carrying out necessary repairs
required by the condition of the building; and if the amount required for those repairs exceeds one thousand Dinars, it shall be paid by
the lessee as well; accordingly, the annual rent is two thousand Dinars.
a - 1000 Dinars (one thousand Dinars) to be paid in cash in a single installment upon signing the contract.
b - 1000 Dinars (one thousand Dinars) to be spent by the lessee on the building for the purpose of carrying out necessary repairs

Accordingly, we see that your letter referred to above is contrary to the agreement reached between us previously. We request
payment of the rent according to the past year. Or evacuate the Edouard Abboudi Shelter so that we can have it occupied by
the refugees who were granted the right to occupy it as long as they are in Iraq and without rent, and we cannot in this
case agree to pay the aforementioned rent due to the lack of the necessary credit in the budget of the Directorate
General of Social Services. And it is contrary to the request for the agreement reached between us.

rents a building at its own expense. So, it rented for us the Laura Kadoorie School building for an annual rent of (5000)
thousand Dinars.
Then the Ministry of Education informed us by its letter No. 42320 dated 10/12/952 that it had purchased the building
of Edward Aboudi through the auction announced in the Baghdad Court of First Instance, and it was registered in the name of the mentioned Ministry and charged us
with paying the rent if we wished to continue occupying the other building (Laura Kadoorie School).
Accordingly, please kindly approve the payment of the rent, calculated against Article 15 of Chapter
58 C, and kindly inform us as soon as possible.
