After reviewing the letter of the Lay Council numbered (Secret 1) and dated 4 / 2 / 949
regarding the approval not to renew the employment contract of the Director of Administration and Finance, Mr. Naji Gitayat, and referring
to the resolution of this committee numbered 10 taken at the twenty-seventh meeting on 1 / 2 / 1949, it was decided
to notify Mr. (Naji Gitayat), Director of Administration and Finance, that the committee, while appreciating the services
he rendered during the period of his occupancy of the position of Director of Administration and Finance at Meir Elias Hospital, regrets its compulsion
not to renew his employment contract which will end at the end of March 1949, in view of the cancellation of the position
he occupied from the hospital's staff. It was also decided to approve granting him the salary of the ordinary leave
to which he is entitled for a period of two months in accordance with the third paragraph of his employment conditions stated in Resolution No. 15 dated
9 / 7 / 1946, with a bonus of / 50 Dinars (fifty Dinars), provided that he begins as of the date
of February 15, 949, handing over the communications and papers related to his job duties to the hospital supervisor, Mr.
Abdullah Gabbay.

11- Based on Dr. Soustman's desire to resign from the directorship of Meir Elias Hospital, the committee decided to approve
its acceptance as of February 15, 1949, while recording the committee's thanks to him for the efforts he exerted
during his tenure as director of Meir Elias Hospital. It was also decided as follows:-
A- Appointment of Dr. Balayan as Director of Meir Elias Hospital for monthly allowances of -/15 Dinars
(Fifteen Dinars)
B- Appointment of Dr. Naeem Rabia as Assistant to the Director of Meir Elias Hospital in addition to his duties for
monthly allowances of -/5 Dinars (Five Dinars).
C- Cancellation of the rent allowance decided to be collected from Dr. Balayan amounting to -/150 Dinars annually
(One hundred and fifty Dinars) for the house occupied by him belonging to Meir Elias Hospital, and that is
as of February 15, 1949.
D- Cancellation of Resolution No. ( 1 ) taken at the fifth meeting on 6/27/1948 regarding
the appointment of Dr. Soustman as Director of Meir Elias Hospital and the appointment of Dr. Isaac Khattina as his assistant with
the cancellation of the allowances granted to them in this regard.
Note
The implementation of resolutions No. 10 and 11 shall be pending the ratification of the Lay Council
Body.

1 — The committee reconsidered its resolution numbered (14) taken in the twenty-third meeting dated
24 / 12 / 1948 and decided:—
A — To restore the salaries and allowances of nurses and practitioners at Meir Elias Hospital as before, provided that
the transportation allowances granted to them be merged into their nominal salaries and considered a promotion for them, starting
from the first of January 1949, provided the hospital administration is not responsible for providing means of
transportation for all nurses and practitioners, and that the cost of living allowances granted to them remain as before.
B — The resolution referred to above remains in effect regarding the following four nurses:

( 8 ) - It was decided to approve the agreement with Dr. Shawkat Mahmoud to be responsible for managing the Radiology Department
at Mir Elias Hospital according to the following conditions:-
A - He shall receive monthly allowances in the amount of -/30 Dinars (thirty Dinars)
B - The remainder of the Radiology Department's revenues shall be divided equally between him and the hospital fund after
deducting his salary and the salaries of the employees (except for the servant) as well as the costs of films and medicines
from the aforementioned revenues.
C - As for the fees to be collected from the visitors, their determination is left to a future session after an agreement
