The Coordination and Follow-up Committee for Model Lessons met on Wednesday 7 / 4 / 1971 at ten
thirty in the morning and discussed some matters that serve the establishment and follow-up of the implementation of the model lessons plan
and what has been implemented of these lessons, and decided the following:-
1- Attendance of model lessons by female and male teachers shall be mandatory, and we request the Directorates of
Education to be notified to inform the teachers of this.
2- We emphasize that the specialist inspector shall manage the discussion and introduce the teacher while praising him after
the end of the lessons.
3- We emphasize the good selection of the teacher who will deliver the model lesson by the specialist inspector
so that he is "very" good in subject matter and method.
4- The specialist inspector shall emphasize the proper use of educational aids and their preparation in a suitable place
so that their use does not require wasting time, and that all other lesson requirements are prepared.
5- We emphasize the necessity of submitting a detailed report by the specialist inspector about the model lesson and about the prominent
points around which the discussion revolved, and that the lesson plan be attached to this report along with a recommendation by the inspector
to thank the teacher who delivered the lesson.
6- We request that the administration of the school in whose hall the model lesson will be delivered prepare the hall
and sanitize it, and mandate an employee to attend to be assisted when needed.

From time to time, we receive telephone inquiries from school administrations regarding the closing of a single class or the school
when multiple cases of mumps occur among the students of the class. To clarify this, we would like to inform you of the necessity of giving
the male or female student, upon infection with mumps, a sick leave for a period of fifteen days from the date the symptoms appear
(or for a period of seven days after the disappearance of the swelling of the salivary glands). There is no health objection to students
remaining in the class or school regardless of the number of infections, provided that the school administration provides
health instructions and guidance on the necessity of caring for general ventilation and opening classroom windows during break time
between lessons, and those windows remain open after the end of the school day until the following day.
Hoping you note this and circulate it to all school health clinics in the country for implementation and to inform us.
