The Honorable Ibrahim Hayyim Effendi Yaqub Rahmin, respected
After greetings and respect, your cousin Menashi Hesqel Hayyim and the widow of your other cousin Shaul
with her orphaned children came to me and informed me that your Excellency had donated to these two families a sum of one thousand two hundred rupees
annually for more than 12 years to assist them in life. And that in recent days they received news
from your place in Bombay stating that this amount will be cut off from them starting from this year.
The aforementioned are all poor and needy people who have no one to rely on for assistance other than
your Excellency, and they have asked me to explain their condition and seek your compassion to have mercy on them and order the continuation
of paying the amount as before, and this is not far from your chivalry and generosity ⟦...⟧
May you remain a help to the poor. Hoping that you will not reject my request, and I thank you in advance.
