Explanatory Note
Our dear brothers,
It is clear to you from the statement presented that most of the sums received from the relatives of the deceased
did not cover 25% or 30% of the amounts borne and spent by the Association on them, especially
given the rise in prices of necessities such as linen shrouds (which are only imported from Turkey)
and kony (sacks), soap, labor wages, car supplies, and other items, compared to what they were before the Second
World War, by a ratio of four or five times what they were previously. Furthermore, the
Association has never previously demanded the costs of this at the time of death, but rather leaves that until days after
the incident to assist their families during the confusion that prevails in those critical moments.
As the Association carries out these humanitarian acts, it requires a group of employees, workers,
and drivers to manage its affairs and conduct its business, costing expenses of approximately 75 Dinars per month,
in addition to what the car in its possession requires in terms of renovations, repairs, fuel, and so on,
not to mention that many houses and residential areas are far from Baghdad and require rapid communication
with them, which led the Association to acquire a second ambulance to serve this purpose and assist the
first car when it is occupied elsewhere or when it suffers a malfunction and is subject to delay as a result of its repair.
This Association has taken the house numbered 17/M/141 located in the Torah neighborhood (Ghazi Street)
as a center for its activities and has obtained a telephone set for it to facilitate contacting it at number 3456.
If the Association's revenues continue in this weak manner, it will collide with formidable obstacles
that will be difficult for it to overcome, and thus it will weaken bit by bit until it vanishes, and the
unfortunate situation will return to what it was before. So, to the honorable members of the community who are possessed by zeal, look
upon this Association and give it your attention and care so that it may continue its humanitarian work and fulfill
its mission in the most perfect manner.
