The woman Meri daughter of Ezra Mashreq Sultan Mashreq appeared before the Spiritual Council and claimed that
her husband Ezra Aaron Moshi Saleh Samin, upon marrying her, gave her a marriage contract (Ketubah) stating that
he was indebted to her for sixty thousand current piasters. Since the aforementioned Ezra Aaron passed away and left his share in the house
located in Hanun Sahyun, and since her son Daoud took possession of the aforementioned inheritance share in that
house, she requested the collection of the value of the marriage contract from the price of that share. The wife
presented her aforementioned contract, and upon reading it, it appeared that it was dated Sunday, 8 Cheshvan, year 5637
Hebrew, registered in the records of the Rabbinate in Baghdad and certified by it. It includes that the aforementioned husband
acknowledges the debt owed to his aforementioned wife Meri in the amount of sixty thousand current piasters, which he is obligated
to pay upon demand during his life or after his death from his movable and immovable property.
Therefore, as the signature of the aforementioned appeared free of forgery or fabrication and suffices as proof, it was necessary
to swear in the aforementioned Meri that she did not receive anything from the aforementioned amount, nor did her husband transfer it to anyone else on her behalf,
nor did she release him from it, and that the aforementioned amount remained as a debt until the time of his death, and that she does not possess any
movables, receipts, clothing, or other items. It was decided to swear her in, and after the swearing-in, the aforementioned Meri
came and took the legal oath of disclosure in the prescribed manner according to the decision in the presence of the Spiritual Council
to direct the collection of the aforementioned amount from his estate and in the presence of her son Daoud.
For this reason, the Spiritual Council decided the necessity of collecting the aforementioned amount, totaling sixty thousand current piasters,
equivalent to 1875 Rupees (one thousand eight hundred and seventy-five Rupees), from the value of the inheritance share in the
deceased's house possessed by her aforementioned son Daoud, and delivering it to the aforementioned Meri. This
decision was given unanimously to serve as a notification in her hand. 14 May 1922.
