Instructions regarding the reservation of Upper Class Accommodation
and Cancellation Thereof and Refunds on Unused Tickets.
1. The reservation of Upper Class accommodation can be made by telephone or by
a personal call at the station. When the required accommodation is ascertained
to be available the travel and reservation ⟦illegible⟧'s etc. must be purchased not later
than 14.00 hours of the day on which the reservation is made. Any telephonic
reservation that is not confirmed by the purchase of the necessary tickets within
the above time limit shall be considered as cancelled.
2. If the demand for reservation is received ⟦illegible⟧ sources outside Kirkuk, Erbil,
Mosul or Ma'qil, whether by telephone or telegram, the reservation will be effected
provided the applicant attends the station to purchase the necessary tickets within
24 hours from the time the reservation is made and before 14.00 hours of the
day on which the journey is to be made.
3. Should a passenger who has already booked his tickets from the station decide
not to travel he should get in touch with the station at least two hours before
the departure time of the train so that his reservation can be cancelled and his
berth given to another passenger.
4. Passengers may reserve their accommodation before the date on which they propose
to travel provided the travel and reservation tickets etc. are booked on the same
day as reservation is made in accordance with paragraph (1) above or within
24 hours in the cases referred to in paragraph (2).
5. Passengers no longer wishing to travel should make their applications to the
office of the Traffic Manager, Central Station Building Baghdad West, duly accom-
panied by their tickets, for consideration of a refund. The Traffic Manager reserves
the right to reject such application.
6. The price of reservation tickets will on no account be refunded in case a passenger
decides not to travel.
7. No refund shall be made on lost or mutilated tickets.
