Iraq Ministry of Education Presidency of the Higher General Examination Committee Instructions No. - 4 - For students participating in the general examinations 1 - The student must know his examination number and his seat location in the examination hall at least one day before the examination date. 2 - The student must attend the examination hall at the designated time, bringing with him the permit card for his participation in the general examinations. He is not allowed to be late for the examination time, and the student will absolutely not be accepted into the examination hall after the start time. 3 - The student must place his permit card for participation in the general examinations on his desk in front of him every day and for every subject. The external student must bring, in addition to that, the receipt given to him for the examination fees. 4 - The student must: a - Request to change his booklet if it is not stamped with the Ministry of Education stamp, before starting the answer. b - Write his name as it appeared on the participation card for the general examinations and his examination number immediately in the place designated for that on the cover of the booklet in ink or copying pencil. He is not allowed to write that in any other place, otherwise he will be considered cheating. c - Use only black lead pencil in his answers. d - Write on both sides of every sheet. 5 - The student is not allowed to bring with him into the examination hall any books, booklets, papers, or even drawing tools. 6 - The student is not allowed to: a - Speak inside the examination hall. b - Look at the booklet of the person next to him. c - Ask his colleagues for anything, and whoever violates this is considered cheating. 7 - Students are not allowed to ask the proctors to explain or interpret the questions at all. 8 - The student is not allowed to place any mark or distinguishing sign inside or outside the booklet, and whoever violates this is considered cheating. 9 - The student is not allowed to use any paper other than the examination booklet paper. 10 - The student is not allowed to change his place or the place of his chair throughout the examination days. 11 - Cheating and every attempt to cheat is considered a violation for which the student is punished by deprivation from the general examination for that year. 12 - The student is not allowed to request a second booklet unless he has finished the first booklet, and he must write his name, number, etc. on the second booklet as stated in paragraph (b) of Article Four. And he should place it inside the first booklet when submitting it. 13 - Students must leave the examination hall after submitting their examination booklets, and they are not allowed to gather near the examination hall after leaving it and discussing the answers. 14 - Absence from the general examinations is not allowed except for a legitimate excuse such as illness, and in this case the student must present a medical report from the medical committee in the Directorate of Education Health in Baghdad or from the education doctors in the provinces, and in his absence in that center, then from an official doctor. 15 - If the student falls ill during the examination days, he must inform the director of the examination center with a medical report obtained after visiting the Directorate of Education Health in Baghdad or the Education Clinic in the province on the following morning and before the time the examinations are held on that day for examination and to decide on his participation or exemption before the start time of the examinations. In the absence of an education doctor at the examination center, the report granted by the Presidency of Provincial Health or the center doctors shall be acted upon. If the student is unable to attend for the purpose of medical examination, the Directorate of Education Health in Baghdad or the Education Clinic in the province must be informed immediately to decide what is necessary regarding that. 16 - No student is allowed to participate in the general examinations on the days for which he submitted a medical report stating non-participation during them. 17 - The sequence numbers given to students in the general examination are the same ones used in the makeup examinations. 18 - The student is advised upon entering the examination hall to be a model of discipline and politeness, to maintain his composure and the calmness of his nerves, and to start by studying the questions calmly and carefully, then proceed to answer them. 19 - The student is advised to start by answering the question he believes he can answer better than others, to be deliberate in what he writes, and to take care of the cleanliness of his booklet, his handwriting, and his spelling. For that has an impact on the estimation of the grade during correction. 20 - The student must place the answer numbers according to the numbers appearing in the question paper and not according to the order of the answers in his booklet. 21 - The student must answer only the required number of questions, because the examination committee takes into consideration the answers according to the sequence appearing in the examination booklet and ignores every answer exceeding the required number or crossed out by the student in a clear manner. For example, if the requirement was to answer five questions and the student answered six questions, the committee will read the first five answers and ignore the sixth unless he had clearly crossed out one of the first five answers. 22 - When the time allocated for the examination ends, the student must stop writing, close his booklet, and remain in his place waiting for the proctor to receive the booklet from him. 23 - It is preferred not to smoke inside the examination hall, and the center director may allow bringing in cigarettes (without the pack).
