After greetings,
Reference to your letter No. 102/M/7 dated 6/9/1947.
Below you will find a statement on the occasion of issuing a special issue of your magazine for its first general meeting.
With ⟦please accept⟧ respect
Head of the Community
I am pleased to address — through this flourishing magazine — a message of greeting and blessing to the mother
and the child. Celestial religions, in their desire for the happiness of humans and society, have urged us to care for
motherhood and childhood and have magnified their importance in building the family; motherhood and childhood are subsequently the pillars of the nation
and the guarantee of its future. How worthy it is for us to grant mothers and children all the care and attention we possess
to raise a living, rising nation that occupies its prominent place among the nations of the earth.
The Iraqi Child Protection Society has set a good example in caring for motherhood and watching over
innocent childhood, and it is a duty for every individual of this people to support this society
and assist it in carrying out the serious mission it has taken upon itself. We ask God to bless
its efforts and endeavors directed towards the good of the country and its youth.
Before I conclude this short statement, I would like to salute the Mother and Child magazine on the occasion of
completing its first year of its long life. I have no doubt that this refined magazine, with the studies
and benefits it publishes, performs its share of service for the sake of the greatest goal, which is guiding
motherhood and supporting childhood, and from God comes success.

Press Affairs
Copy of the Statement
Our representative met with His Eminence Rabbi Sassoon Khedouri, Head of the Jewish Community in Baghdad,
and asked him about the malicious rumors suggesting the ill-treatment of Jews in Arab countries. His Eminence said:
Some of these rumors are purposeful, as is well known, and I am pleased to take this opportunity
to reaffirm once again what I have declared and stated before on various occasions, that Iraqi Jews
live in this country as its own people, just as they have lived throughout ancient ages, linked to their fellow
countrymen by the strongest bonds of intimacy and affection, receiving the kindest treatment and best care from their government.
His Eminence added: Jews do not feel that they are strangers in this country; they
enjoy the rights of citizens, having the same rights and duties as all other citizens. I have previously
explained this clearly to the members of the Anglo-American Committee of Inquiry who visited Baghdad a
year and a half ago.
The Head of the Jewish Community concluded his statement by saying that the future of Iraq's Jews
is linked to this country, which they have inhabited for over two thousand years, speaking its language, adopting its morals,
working in various fields of activity, serving it with their knowledge, culture, and wealth, and sharing its joys
and sorrows. It goes without saying that Zionism has never been able, and the one hundred and twenty thousand
Iraqi Jews look to Iraq as their homeland, and they have no homeland but it.

The commission decided the following:

Head of the Physical Council
Reasons for Appeal
1- That the commission's estimation of the bonus issued regarding the wife of the person requesting the bonus is contrary to the Pension and Salaries Law
2- That the commission did not take into account that the salary her husband was receiving at the time of his death was higher than what was
estimated for her in the decision, and that the salary based on which the bonus was calculated does not agree with reality
3- That the commission did not consider that the petitioner is a widow and has a stepdaughter whom she supports and lives with her, and
the petitioner is the sole provider for her aforementioned daughter due to the absence of relatives, and it was stated in Article
10 of the Pension Law the text: (The retiree who receives a pension salary, a bonus, or a family salary is entitled)
and his family members mentioned in the said article of this law are entitled
4- That the salary her husband was receiving was ⟦...⟧ Dinars per month and not as stated in the decision
5- That the commission did not consider that the petitioner's health condition does not allow her to work and that she needs someone to support her
6- That the commission did not consider that the petitioner served at the Noor Aini school for a long period and that she deserves a bonus
more than what was decided for her
7- That the commission did not consider that Article 12 of the Pension Law stipulates that the bonus is calculated on the basis of
the last salary the employee was receiving before his death, and that the salary her husband was receiving was more
than what was decided in the decision, and the petitioner requests a reconsideration of the commission's decision mentioned above

The forces of the Arabs have united today
So woe to the Jews and their supporters
We do not want by writing these words to defame the Jews or list their countless disadvantages or
call upon the Arabs to do to them as Nazi Germany did in the recent past. Rather, we wanted to say
frankly to the Jews that their crooked behavior with all nations and the Arabs in particular and their deviation from the right path is
what has brought and brings upon them calamities and afflictions in all parts of the world. And to ask them now to correct their position
towards the nations and peoples among whom they live and to blend with them sincerely as others do and not to think of
a nationality other than the nationality of the country whose land carries them and whose sky shades them and to forget building what they call Solomon's Temple
in Jerusalem, a spot in the Arab lands, and to leave Arab Palestine to its Arab people and remove the idea of establishing
the alleged Jewish state from their imagination for the sake of gathering the world's wandering Jews in Palestine, the heart
of the Arab lands, at the expense of its Arab people.
If the Jews in general do not take advice and return to their senses, their evil deeds will soon surround them, and they will be
going to their end by themselves, and this sedition of theirs will be the reason leading to their eradication and the uprooting of their roots
from the earth. For they are a few and the whole Arab world is resentful, indignant, loud, and angry, so let them not be deceived by promises and decisions
they obtain from the Western colonialists whenever they offer them fleeting money and the bribery that blinds their eyes.
The forces of the Arabs have united today, so woe to their enemies among the Jews and their supporters, for no one
among them will be able to stand before this massive Arab army, which is motivated to take revenge to cleanse the Holy Land.
