To the Honorable Haham Bashi of the Israelite Community
The petitioner: Hayim Moshe Yosef Eliyahu
The defendant: Tuffaha daughter of Rahim Hayal
On June 24, 929, I was notified of the judgment in absentia issued by your esteemed department under No. 14 and dated August 24, 928 regarding the case of
the marriage in reconciliation to her and the assessment of her alimony at 5 Rupees per month. Since this judgment requires my presence, I object to it.
Since I previously abstained from marrying the defendant, it was for legitimate reasons, which were the failure to fulfill the dowry conditions and service ⟦and its position⟧, and now
I am ready to proceed with the marriage according to the conditions that were agreed upon and preserved in the recording paper with the Hakim at the time of the contract ⟦accordingly⟧. Therefore, I request
the annulment of the mentioned judgment and for the defendant to be summoned to your esteemed department to conduct the trial anew and issue a decision to fulfill the conditions mentioned
in the recording and proceed with the marriage for this reason. The matter is yours to decide. | June 4, 929

To the honorable excellence, the complete Sage, the honorable Salman Hugi Aboudi, may his Rock and Redeemer protect him, of the Holy Community

After good greetings!
The subject is the Ketubah of the deceased Mrs. Simha daughter of Yosef David Mukhtar, peace be upon her, who was the wife of
Shalom Yosef Cohen Shimshon and is currently the wife of Yosef Avraham Halla. We hereby inform your excellencies that by summons of our court
the aforementioned defendant Mr. Yosef Avraham Halla appeared before us and argued before us regarding the claim of the heirs of the aforementioned deceased
concerning the Ketubah of his aforementioned deceased wife, the amount of which is (150) one hundred and fifty Ottoman gold dinars, that they have no right to this
and the explanation of his words is that the aforementioned deceased did not bring any dowry (property) with her from her father's house, and the aforementioned amount written
in the Ketubah (dowry property) was not collected, and the receipts in their hands are receipts for dowry property, and he claims that her Ketubah is only
a mere support and nothing more. Therefore, since the aforementioned matter is legal and requires investigation, inquiry, and Halakhic negotiation,
we are transferring this claim to your excellencies so that you may summon the parties before you, hear their claims, and decide the
Torah law according to the law and justice. And may the Blessed Name lead you in paths of righteousness for His name's sake and grant peace upon you as your soul and the soul
of the one praying for you here in Baghdad, may God protect it, desires.

Plaintiff: Nuna daughter of Munshi Dawood Shasha
Defendants: Sasson Hai bin Israel, husband of the plaintiff
" " " Ezekiel ⟦b⟧s⟦n⟧
" " " Habiba ⟦b⟧s⟦n⟧
Nuna daughter of Munshi Dawood Shasha approached the Spiritual Court and claimed that her husband Israel Ezekiel
Daniel Menqar has passed away, and she is owed by him the sum of one thousand rupees, which is her dowry documented in the marriage contract given
to her by her aforementioned husband. Therefore, she requests its collection as a priority from the heirs of the deceased in addition to the estate
which Sasson Hai has taken possession of as the son of the deceased.
Upon reviewing the presented marriage contract, it appeared that it was issued by the Rabbinate of Baghdad and registered
therein on the date of the first of Kislev, year 5684 Hebrew, corresponding to November 9, 1923, and that it is free from
any suspicion of forgery or fabrication, speaking of the deceased husband's acknowledgment to his wife, the plaintiff Nuna daughter of Munshi Dawood
Shasha, of her deferred dowry amounting to one thousand rupees. In response to the court's question, the plaintiff admitted that she possesses
jewelry, clothing, and furniture, the value of which must be deducted from the aforementioned dowry amount. Upon appraising the mentioned items
by experts, their price reached one hundred and fifty rupees. After deducting this amount from the presented dowry,
eight hundred and fifty rupees only remained for the plaintiff from the deceased.
Accordingly, it was necessary for the plaintiff to take the oath of manifestation that she did not have in her possession in any way
any assets, furniture, or money belonging to the deceased except for the mentioned items she admitted to, and that she has not received
her remaining aforementioned claim and has not cleared the deceased's liability from it. She performed the aforementioned oath in the presence of her two brothers
Nassim, guardian of the minors Ezekiel and Habiba. As for the son of the deceased, the aforementioned Sasson Hai, he did not attend based
on his acceptance of the oath-taking in his absence.
Based on the explanation above, it was ruled for the aforementioned plaintiff Nuna against the heirs of the defendants in addition to the estate
for an amount of eight hundred and fifty rupees (850).
This judgment has been issued as a notification.

The Spiritual Court was approached by the named Najia daughter of Salman Abu Dawood, claiming that her husband Moshe

the plaintiff is right in her claim, and the mentioned husband has confessed to that. Accordingly, and to preserve
the rights of the mentioned wife, the court notified the defendant Moshe of the necessity to purchase belongings for his wife as compensation
for those he sold and spent the proceeds of. Since the husband refused to comply with the court's decision arbitrarily
