Defendant: Abraham Shmuel
Yusuf Mordechai Cohen, the agent for Qadam Khayr daughter of Dawood,
approached the Spiritual Court and claimed that his client's husband Abraham Shmuel had forced his wife to register
her house in his name without her consent. Accordingly, after verifying the petitioner's claims,
the Spiritual Court ruled that the aforementioned Abraham Shmuel pay a monthly alimony of
thirty rupees to be paid to his wife Qadam Khayr starting from 3 September 1926.

A decree was issued by the Israelite Spiritual Court in Baghdad on March 19, 1928, ruling
obligating the defendant Menashe Haron Sayegh to pay the plaintiff, his wife Simha Haron Moshe
Ghazal, a monthly alimony of fifteen rupees starting from May 17, 1926. Upon notifying him of the decree,
it appeared from the explanation provided by the process server and the neighborhood mukhtar that the said Menashe Haron Sayegh is of unknown
residence. Therefore, it was necessary to notify him by announcement, provided he has the right to object within thirty days
from the date of publication. For this purpose, this announcement was drafted.

Defendant: Salim bin Yusuf
Munshi Effendi Saltoon, the attorney for Samha Nassim Sassoon, petitioned the Israeli Spiritual Court,
claiming that his client's fiancé refuses to marry her without any
legitimate reason. Upon summoning the aforementioned Salim bin Yusuf, residing in Fallujah, with the necessity
of coming to Baghdad for the marriage contract, he insisted on not responding to the summons. Therefore,
the court, after verifying his income, imposed a monthly alimony of fifteen rupees
(15) to be received by the fiancée starting from May 10, 1928.

Plaintiff: Nasima daughter of Yusuf Abdo
Defendant: Yaqoub Kurji Pinhas
Farha Baruch petitioned the Israelite Spiritual Court on behalf of her daughter
Nasima Yusuf Abdo and claimed that her client's fiancé, Yaqoub Kurji Pinhas, is refusing
to marry. Since the aforementioned fiancé resides in Mohammerah, the Spiritual Court
wrote to the Rabbis of Mohammerah to notify the designated person of the necessity of marrying his fiancée
with what he received from her family of the hundred, or to divorce her; however, the aforementioned Yaqoub did not
pay attention to the court's decision in this regard, but rather insisted on not complying with either
of the two conditions.
As this insistence is prejudicial to the girl's rights, the court imposed on the ⟦defendant⟧
Yaqoub Kurji Pinhas, after verifying his earnings, a monthly alimony in the amount of

Defendant: Yaqub Ezra Danoos
Esther daughter of Haskel Daoud Zion appeared before the Spiritual Court and claimed that
the named Yaqub Ezra Danoos had been engaged to her for a year and a half and today he
is refusing to marry her without a legitimate reason
The aforementioned woman stated that she has completed the necessary trousseau and presented a document certified
by the Deputy Chief Rabbi of Basra stating that if the fiancé refuses to marry -
