Defendant: Ishaq son of Ya'qub Asher Has-hi (currently residing in Basra, Chicken Market)
The plaintiff, Na'ima daughter of Shaul Yehuda Hamed, consulted our court and explained that her husband Ishaq son of Ya'qub

after investigating his earnings, for a monthly maintenance for his aforementioned wife in the amount of fifteen (15) Rupees, effective from
30 November 1925.

Subject: Regarding the notices of the Spiritual Court
His Excellency, the respected President of the Lay Council
After greetings, among the procedures that were followed during the era of the former
Chief Rabbi is that the notices issued by the Spiritual Court and everything related to the course of lawsuits
were referred to the Chief Rabbi's administration to complete their processing. If this method must be
followed by law, the Director of Correspondence of the Israelite Community administration considers that to be outside the scope
of his jurisdiction; therefore, he is refraining from carrying out these matters.
And if it is within the jurisdiction of the Spiritual Court to handle its own correspondence affairs, then
there is an urgent need to appoint a capable clerk who will take upon himself what pertains to the correspondence with
speed.
No doubt Your Excellency sees the necessity of expediting the final decision to resolve this issue
in order to preserve administrative order.
Please accept the highest expressions of thanks and respect,

After greetings, based on the follow-up of the lawyer Salman Effendi Sheya, the agent of the named Habiba
Houriah, holder of the monthly decree issued by the Israeli Spiritual Court for a monthly alimony
amounting to forty rupees against her husband Salim bin Menashi Gabbay.
It appears that there is a slight confusion arising in the reading of the name of the aforementioned decree holder, there⟦fore⟧
it was necessary for us to clarify to your Excellency by this that the aforementioned decree holder has two names, which are (Habiba
Houriah), just as her father has two names, which are (Daoud Shalom).
Accordingly, there is no difference between the identities of:
• Houriah daughter of Daoud Sasson Rajwan • and • Habiba Houriah daughter of Daoud Shalom Sasson
Rajwan •
This is what was necessary to clarify to prevent confusion.
