Subject / Instructions on how to conduct final examinations
for the third grades of private schools and external students
for intermediate study

Directors of Education in all Governorates
It has been decided to conduct the final examinations for the third intermediate grades in private schools except
the foreign ones, together with the third intermediate grades in official schools, requesting that the following be followed: -
We are sending herewith sufficient copies, please distribute them to the private schools affiliated with you
1. Students of each private school (third intermediate grade only) shall be examined using the same question paper used
by students of one of the official schools. The Director of Education shall assign to each private school the official school
responsible for this examination.
2. The examinations for private school students (third intermediate grades only) shall be conducted in their schools, and
the private school must receive an examination schedule for the third grades that is identical in terms of time and order
of subjects to the third grade examinations of the official school mentioned above. The examinations shall be conducted
in both schools at the same time and with the same question paper.
3. The Director of Education shall send one or more monitors to each private school according to the number of classes in that school. In the event
the number of monitors exceeds one, a primary supervisor shall be appointed from among them, provided that the number of appointees
for supervision is at a rate of one for every (fifty) students.
4. The monitors shall supervise the third-grade examination affairs, and they must note absences,
collect the booklets, stamp them, and hand them over to the administration of the official school responsible for these
examinations.
5. The official school committees shall grade these booklets along with their students' booklets using the secret method
and through the committees stipulated in the regulations and instructions.
6. Private schools must send the annual averages for third-grade students to the official school.
7. The official school administration shall record the grades in special lists and publish the results.
8. Teachers of official schools shall receive the prescribed grading fees for the booklets of private school students
and external students for this stage of study.
9. Members of the administrative body charged with recording and publishing grades shall also receive the prescribed fees for
the booklets of private school students and external students.
10. The Directorate of Examinations shall organize private school examinations in Baghdad in consultation with the
competent Director of Education according to the principles set out above.
11. The school examination booklets for the third grade for any private school and external students shall be provided by
the official school responsible for the examination and shall be of the same model used by the third-grade students
in that school. The person responsible for the third-grade examinations for the private school
and external students shall receive the booklets from the official school and return the remainder, just like the director of an
examination center in the examination centers for general examinations.

their expenses are borne by the Directorate of Education of the District.
12- Proctors of the third intermediate grades appointed by you in private schools receive fees
for two lectures for each exam they proctor from the private school.

A - Further to our administrative order No. 12931 dated 26 / 5 / 1957.
We have decided that the individuals whose names are listed in the attached lists shall act as officials and proctors
in the examination centers for the third grades in the private schools indicated next to the name
of each of them, provided that they receive wages at the rate of two lecture fees for each lesson.
B - The official shall receive the questions from the administration of the official school to which
the private school is linked, and return the examination booklets bundled after each exam to the official
school to be delivered against a receipt from the principal of the official intermediate school, who is considered the director of the administration
of the examination for both the official and private schools. The official is the one who supervises the progress
of the examinations in the private schools to which they are appointed.

Administrative Order
1- It has been decided to conduct the final examinations for the third intermediate classes for official
and private schools at eight o'clock in the morning starting from Saturday, 8/6/1957 and ending
at ten o'clock each day until the end date, provided that students of private schools take exams
in their schools except for the schools marked next to their names. Official schools will be
responsible for the examinations of the third classes of private schools and for external students
from all classes as marked opposite each school. The principal of the official school shall be
the director of the examination for his official school and the private school he is responsible for, and teachers of the official
school are the ones responsible for setting the questions.
2- One supervisor from the official school teachers will be appointed for private schools for
every (50) students.
3- Since the number of official school teachers is small due to them conducting their own schools' examinations
at the same time private school students are taking exams, they will be assisted by teachers assigned by
this Directorate from its primary schools.
4- The private school shall pay the responsible principal and the supervisors fees at the rate of
two lecture fees for each lesson.
5- For co-educational schools, exams for male and female students will be held in their own schools
and they will be supervised by the official boys' school and its teachers if the number of male students is more
than the number of female students.
6- Since the students of Dar al-Salam Private School (Sabbatarians) are not permitted by their religion
to practice work on Saturdays, the administration of Al-Mansur Intermediate School for Boys, which is responsible for
the examinations of this school, is requested to set their examination schedules for Saturday, June (8) for non-academic
subjects; as for other subjects, they shall be on the days following Saturday.
7- Private school administrations must send lists of examinees to the administrations of
the official schools responsible for them.
8- Attached with this letter of ours are the permit cards for participating in the general examinations according to
the number of students in each private school, provided that cards exceeding the school's needs are returned
to the Records Department at this Directorate against a receipt. Every third-class student will be
prevented from taking his exam unless he has a permit card for participating in the general
examinations with his photograph attached and a fifty-fils revenue stamp, and it must be
certified by his school principal and this Directorate if he is an external student.
9- Students of the first, second, and fourth classes will take exams at ten-thirty
starting from Saturday, 8/6/1957, and ending at twelve-thirty
throughout the examination days.
10- Private school administrations must assign their teachers to supervision.
11- The Ministry of Education is the entity that will pay the fees for grading the booklets of external students
and private schools.

In view of the approaching date of the final examinations for the third intermediate classes for the year 1957/58
Second Session, please provide us with the names of students who wish to participate in the entrance
examinations for preparatory studies from among those who passed the second session examinations, taking into account the following
points with complete accuracy.
-1 Arranging names according to the alphabet and ensuring they are complete and matching the students' civil status records
(boys and girls).
-2 The mentioned lists, along with the final examination results for the second session, must not be delayed beyond
Tuesday, 9 / 9 / 1958.
-3 No student's name (male or female) will be added after the mentioned day, so please study the lists,
verify them, and send them in the final form that does not accept crossing out or addition.
-4 Two copies of the name lists are to be sent. In mixed schools, the names of male students are listed in
one list and the names of female students in another list. Likewise, the Scientific Branch in one list and the Literary Branch in
a second list, and also those who wish to take the exam for both the Scientific and Literary branches in a third list.
-5 It is preferred to write the names in ink or by typewriter, provided the writing is clear and easy to read
and that there is a space between one line and another.
-6 The name lists are arranged according to the three models, provided that the space for the examination number remains empty.
-7 The lists are to be submitted to the Statistics and Certificates Section to Mr. Abdul Ahad Nano.
Note - We will return any list that does not meet the conditions listed above, and the school administration bears
the responsibility for the delay.
