Taxi Owners
Express their thanks to His Excellency the Minister of Interior
And His Excellency the Deputy Director General of Police
In a letter carried to us by mail signed by
(Hussein Abu Ali) and a group of owners of
taxis in Baghdad, the following was stated:
We and our families raise our palms to God
Hoping the Almighty and Exalted will grant success to His Excellency Mr.
Saleh Jabr, Minister of Interior, and His Excellency Mr.
Saleh Hamam, Deputy Director General of Police
To serve the nation and the welfare of the Kingdom and to help
the poor like us, for their kindness to us
and their compassion for us, the poor sons of the people
whose poverty almost drove our cars away from
Al-Rashid Street, ending us and our families
And which I, after what we presented to His Excellency
the Minister and His Excellency the Deputy Director General of Police
of damages inflicted on us and our families as a result of
this coordination, may God grant them success to serve the country
and may He increase people like them.
Friends of the criminal Ali Khalid
Who owe him many favors
⟦...⟧ the Just, and they inform the criminal of his near release
⟦...⟧ his full punishment despite your agitation and fabrications
These sayings, and as it is the final reference
for judgments, it includes the most honorable men and the most
upright and longest serving in the judicial corps
And all of them are not affected by the blame of a blamer in the truth, nor
do they tilt with every wind, nor do they listen to any
conversation revolving around a case in their hands
Nor are they attracted by whims, and no influencer can
affect them at all, for the fortresses reject
their words and say to them that whoever committed a crime must
receive his punishment and their words will not save him. And we say
to them also that if you were friends of the criminal, then lighten
for him words and writings other than this agitation that
touches justice and generates a bad effect, and we warn them
that we will touch on more than this and we will say
our word about them after mentioning their names and we will look into it
Those who desist from such gossip and nonsense
The General Building
The Restaurants
Must be forced
On the Ministry
What it wants from
The General Building .. a long topic and a complex problem
which days have not been able to solve, as we have written
about it, and how much we have written and demanded, and
how much we have demanded, and the situation in it was treated
but in a way that did not eliminate the
ailments in it, but rather they were temporary treatments. If they were correct
and succeeded, then the days are numbered, and as soon as
officials think that the medicine has eliminated the disease
and they turn to more important duties, the situation returns
to what it was. The assistant
police chief of the current Sarai was able, thanks to the help of the director of
Baghdad Brigade Police, to dismantle and uproot
most of the corruption and mischief at the source of corruption
some dens, but he did not turn to other important
aspects to treat them until the situation in
this focal point returned to its previous state, as in this
building there are several houses used as places for
gambling, the first of which is the first house located on the left of
the person entering this place. It was also mentioned to us that
this house is divided into two parts, the first part
is the external house and the second part is
another house inside this house, and in the inner house
there are rooms on the right side of it taken as a place
for gambling, and what a (gambling den) it is!
The fourth in it comes out a loser. In this
house itself, in the first room on the left of the entrance
located in the (passage) and belonging to the owner of
the house (Kanshour), it contains types of
alcoholic drinks whose sale is prohibited inside
the general building, sold to visitors at double
their prices.
And the son of the house, this is the first and last
of its kind in the general building, but there are several
other places for gambling, and there are also
many shops that we can call specialized departments
for catching prey that sell alcohol
to teenagers. And how does this alcohol enter
the general building despite the heavy guarding
and restriction and precise search?! This is
what we do not know, but we want to know it! In
the general building there is a café, but a secret café, and
from this, when the police applied Regulation No.
33 for the year 1948 and closed all the existing cafés
in the general building after the health departments confirmed
the necessity of closing them in application of this
regulation, the owners of these cafés were able
by one way or another to bring out their tools
from inside these cafés and placed them on both sides of
the road along its length for the patrons of the café
to sit on, and tea, lemon juice, and types of
refreshments are served to them, which are placed in some houses whose
owners' names we can provide to
the specialized departments based on the precise information
that reached us from one of our
honorable readers. Also, the regulation prohibited the opening of
restaurants that serve food to the patrons of the nightclub, but
despite this, we see that restaurants in their healthy form
that meet the conditions are strictly prohibited according to
the regulation, while the mobile restaurants that were placed
on tables in filthy shops and in the paths of
the building were not subject to this prohibition.
As for (opium) and (hashish), speak
without hesitation, as the ease of obtaining them in
this place is more than anyone imagines.
All this exists despite the strict supervision?!
And the intensifications and restrictions, and the reality in
what was happening before these
restrictions and intensifications were imposed!! ⟦...⟧
If the person entering this place observed
what he encounters in his way, he would see wonders. This
place, despite what it is, and despite that we and all of Iraq
and Baghdad especially are with us demanding its removal
from its location for its health and moral condition
away from sight and not far from the government's supervision
with its various health, security
and administrative authorities, then despite that we demand the necessity of
removing it, we cannot remain silent about what it is
It blocks the roads for passers-by and helps the lurking
for the observers and hinders traffic and helps in
increasing the crowd, and monitoring the existing shops
with strict supervision, especially the shops of
selling refreshments, which naturally are subject
to the prohibition decision, and which have begun to sell alcohol
publicly after mixing it with (siphon) instead of water
And ordering the impermissibility of opening mobile restaurants
after applying the regulation on fixed restaurants
and closing the shops that were taken as quasi-restaurants
at the present time, and monitoring the elevated houses
where gambling is practiced, especially
the house mentioned at the beginning of our letter, and that
the teenagers and children in
the general building should be taken into account from now on, and to prevent the entry of tea into
the houses after it was prohibited in public cafés, for
each of these houses has become a secret café
where the dancing of (Shammareen) is practiced
to the rhythms of the (Donbak), in addition to serving
tea to entice customers to sit in these
secret cafés.
Now, because those who frequent it are from the poor class that
forms the majority of the Iraqi people, and since this
majority is accustomed to frequenting this place
it is necessary to impose the strictest health supervision on
the prostitutes in it, as it is noted that
the most widespread diseases in Iraq
and the most dangerous and deadly and most widespread
is syphilis, and we can state with certainty that we
may find five percent of the prostitutes found
in this place free of diseases. As for
the rest, as stated by His Excellency the Director General of Health
they are inexhaustible sources of disease. Just
as if those in charge observed the issue of boys
and teenagers frequenting this place, they would be appalled by their number.
Also, the mentioned regulation prohibits the presence of
children of both sexes in the building at a time
when we find dozens of children
⟦...⟧ of girls and boys.
We also request that the guard consisting
of police officers in the general building be rotational
changed every week or every 3 days, not permanent
to prevent the service from returning to its old habits?!
And despite what we write, we advise to clarify
that the police are performing their duties
to the fullest, but what happens happens
from some individuals who have ties to the
past era, and whom His Excellency the
Deputy Director General of Police is now working to clean the police corps
of them, and they are known. We also hope the
health departments carry out a wide-scale campaign
and set a specific day for the examination, its timing
being secret, where all the building's exits are monitored
and the Director General of Health himself attends and performs
the examination on all the residents of the general building
including the procuresses to verify their safety
from communicable diseases and to know the number of prostitutes
present in the building without registration in
the general register, as the number of prostitutes in the general
building, as we have learned, is not proportional to the number in
the mentioned register.
This is a small word we send to our friend
the Baghdad Police Director and the Sarai Police Assistant
according to jurisdiction, hoping for the necessary action to be taken
regarding what was mentioned in it, and to the health departments, hoping
for attention to what we suggested about performing the general health
check-up.
As for the issue of moving the general building from its current location
this is a matter left to the judgment of the responsible
authorities and the current government, which has become
the sighs of the people and the country. We are polling the honorable
readers among the sons of the noble people about
the issue of moving the general building, as we have polled the officials
who agreed on the necessity of moving it, and we shall
return to the subject.
Referendum No. (2)
To all the sons of the noble Iraqi people
We ask you to express your opinion in letters you send to us about moving the general building from its current location
in service of the public interest, and thank you.
Municipality Court
Due to what the visitors of the Municipality
Court suffer from various difficulties in their movement
from the areas they live in to the headquarters of the court
the specialized authorities have decided to allocate
special rooms in the unit centers
as municipality courts where the follow-ups are carried out
for each center a specific day, and this procedure
is appreciated for its help to the visitors
and saving their time and money they spend.
A complaint from Nasiriyah
In a letter from Nasiriyah, the sender complains
about the large number of liquor shops
and points out that a Jew opened three
liquor stores with one license (?!)
The sender also complains about one of the three shops
belonging to this Jew which is adjacent to
the girls' school and the mosque (?!)
The sender also appeals to the Ministry of Social
Affairs and complains to it about the hospital being empty
of medicines and all other necessary supplies.
The sender draws the attention of officials in
the brigade to the manipulation that occurs in
the contracts, especially the meat and hospital
contracts. We hope for an investigation into what we mentioned
and punishment of the manipulators if it is true that there is
manipulation. We also hope the Mutasarrif of the brigade takes interest
in the issue of liquor shops, and we hope the Ministry of
Social Affairs answers the request of the complainant.
It is clear that the hospital is empty of medicines
and necessary supplies as he claims, as
the hospital is not only its building, but rather it treats him

National Hatred, and National Pride
Which is more guaranteed to restore Arab dignity?
The call for "national pride" arose
in Iraq before other Arab countries, and that
was more than ten years ago, and we do not want
today in our article to criticize the proponents of this principle
and its advocates, for we know they are driven by good intentions
and a love of service for the sake of the national interest.
But we intended to discuss their views in a purely scientific
discussion and to convince them of the errors
their viewpoint entails. In our discussion of the idea of
"national pride," we do not fail to always take pride
in our belief that they were extracted from the
ancient Arab character and the inherited Arab tendency.
Like the Jews or a grandson like the English, duty
and historical evolution necessitate that we raise
our new generation on national hatred, not national
pride. We must make our sons and grandsons understand
(that they are Arabs and that the Arabs are a nation no less
deserving of civilization and progress than others, and that
the English have betrayed the Arab nation dozens
of times, colonizing its lands and partitioning them,
killing every sensitive feeling in its sons
and preventing its progress in all aspects,
and they were not satisfied with that, but gathered the displaced Jews
from the corners of the world and established a state for them in
the heart of the Arab homeland. The Jews have violated
our sanctities and displaced a million people from
our brothers after killing a large number of them
and burying some of them alive in Deir Yassin
and committed atrocities that the tongue does not dare mention).
This is what the new Arab youth must understand
so they grow up saturated with the spirit of
hatred and grudge toward the Jews and the English,
seizing every opportunity for revenge and retaliation,
underestimating every sacrifice for the sake of restoring
their national dignity after this dear dignity
was notched and torn by the lowest
of peoples and the basest of nations.
If we raised the new generation on correct blind national
pride, they would have become worse
than what we have become, and believed themselves to have strength
and immunity while they are far from them, and underestimated
the importance of the enemy until he achieves from them what he wants, just as
we mocked the destinies of the Jews and the capabilities
of the Jews and the power of the Jews, and the result was as
we see it now.
So we must realize these facts with a complete
realization and prepare our modern youth on the concept of
not national pride, but rather making them understand that their nation
is defeated, afflicted, and stabbed to the core, and that
their duty is confined to strength, unity, and revenge
for their nation, so that the world may then know that the Arabs
are no less entitled than other nations to a
happy life.
National hatred is more worthy for the Arabs to
hold onto after their great catastrophe in

The Jews do not respect the United Nations
Nor do they take it into any account because they are the ones who control it
And they do not respect treaties and covenants because they do not see themselves bound by any of them
And as long as they do not fear anything from anyone.. they do what they wish
They say that the Jews violated the
Rhodes Armistice Agreement for the second time by dropping thirty
bombs on refugee camps in Al-Majdal.
And the news wanted to show us a side of
recklessness in this disgraceful act until they dared
because who are the Jewish dregs to dare
to violate the armistice agreement and who are they to
perform any act that would offend the
United Nations - that mighty and great body -
and the United Nations cannot stand idly by
such dregs as they counter it or
disobey its orders
The Jews are scheming to remain in Iraq
after their citizenship is revoked
Some of them file false lawsuits against each other for the purpose of disruption and procrastination so they are not deported
The government must be strict in taking measures and not let any of them remain after their citizenship is revoked
We said before that the Jews did not
want the government to resort to revoking
their Iraqi citizenships, but rather they wanted
to be left to their own devices, leaving
to Palestine and returning from it whenever they wished.
But the law that stipulated the acceptance of
the revocation of citizenship from them disturbed their sleep
and disappointed them. Now they are between two things:
either they drop their citizenship and it becomes mandatory for them to
leave Iraq with no return, or
they stay as they are, and this is what they do not accept
due to the establishment of the alleged Israel. If they abandon
the revocation of their citizenship, the law might be repealed
after a while and they do not know when, and that may be followed by
⟦line⟧ some obstacles for nations that prevented them from
going to Palestine; therefore, they resorted
to requesting the revocation of their citizenships
himself. As for how that happens, the Jews,
with the diabolical ideas they possess, have found
a way that would never occur to any devil
at all, which is that once his citizenship is revoked,
another one of them files a lawsuit against him claiming
debts of money, and thus they have been able,
these cursed ones, to know the way by which they remain
in Iraq despite the revocation of their citizenships
from them.
It is known that civil lawsuits require
notification, which requires days and nights that may be long
in duration. They also require the appointment of a day
for the hearing, and medical reports may delay that
in requests for postponement, then what follows of
objection and then other stages of
trials as is commonly followed. Such
cases require months, even years.
How many civil lawsuits have passed years
and are still in their early stages.
The Jews want to be left to go
and come; if they find a place in Israel, as
they hope, they stay in it, and if they do not find it as
they want, they return from it. Therefore, they will
not leave any means without resorting
to it to stay and escape, and to revoke their citizenship
and keep their citizenships at the same time.
They know how that happens, and we do not know
what they are plotting and what they have done now for this
despicable, despicable, exposed Zionist purpose, but we
now have caught them in this trick, and it
alone is sufficient for the extent of what these
demons can do.
The filing of lawsuits by some against others
on this wide scale has caught our attention because
these lawsuits were not genuine;
if they were genuine, they would not, firstly, be in this
large number and limited to those whose citizenship is revoked,
to those whose citizenship was revoked. Furthermore, the lawsuits
are filed against those whose citizenship has been revoked from
the Jews only; we did not find a Christian or a Muslim
who filed such lawsuits, and if something
like that happened, it is a rare, natural, and simple thing, as is the case
in every matter that occurs by chance.
Therefore, we call upon the government to
be strict in taking measures and use the most precise
precautions in preventing these apostate Jews
from remaining in the country because their presence is a danger to
the country due to the confusion, turmoil,
and corruption they carry in it, and the intrigue and malice they plot.
We want to reduce evil as much as possible, for every
one of them who leaves the country, there leaves
with him a bottle of the germs of evil and corruption
and a wineskin from the alleys of vice and degradation.
It is a cause for optimism for all Iraqis
that these people leave as quickly as possible because they

The rest of national hatred
Palestine, and this hatred was the most important reason
that united the hearts of the Jews and made
sacrifice cheap to them and ignited enthusiasm in
their souls, so they were able to usurp Palestine
and expel its legitimate inhabitants before the eyes
and ears of the world; in fact, it increased in horror and atrocity
that it was carried out under the protection and support
of international organizations.
Some pedants may attempt to say
that national hatred is inconsistent with human
cooperation, which requires brotherhood and forgetting
grudges, and that this hatred is one of the
pillars of Nazi teachings that contradict
current democratic systems. These
pedants should stay in their holes and not
be defeated by these harmful sophistries regarding
the Arab entity, and let them know that Alsace
and Lorraine were not recovered without national hatred,
and that Germany did not rise after every slumber without
national hatred, and the Jews did not establish the state
of Israel without national hatred; they must
understand that and leave the guidance of the nation
to those who are capable of sound, realistic guidance.
The rest of the Jews ⟦illegible⟧
Renegades, and because they have become non-citizens, rather
they have become firstly traitors and secondly enemies,
so their remaining after their nationalities are stripped from them
and their wandering among the people means espionage and sowing
corruption and destruction.
Therefore, we call upon the government to
tighten as much as possible the measures for their expulsion
and removal by every means and through every medium
so that the country may be safe from their evil and that they may taste
the torment of the blaze.

Private and Foreign Education in Iraq
New Draft Regulation for Private and Foreign Schools
The Ministry of Education has allocated in the general budget
for the current year sufficient amounts for private and foreign
education in Iraq. The esteemed professor
Awni Bakr Sidqi, Director of Private Education
at the Ministry of Education, says that it is the Ministry's plan
to encourage and expand private education, and therefore it
pays substantial amounts to private schools as annual
grants. Were it not for the current financial constraints, it
would not have stopped increasing those grants, which exceed
seventeen thousand dinars - at the present time - .
A draft of a special regulation for private and foreign
schools has been prepared and will soon be submitted for approval.
The Directorate of Private and Foreign Education oversees
more than 200 private and foreign schools,
to implement the provisions of the Public Education
Law No. 57 of 1940.
Teachers for Primary Schools
At the beginning of this academic year, efforts were
made to appoint male and female teachers
for primary and secondary schools for the purpose
of teaching Arabic language and social studies, and it
encountered immense difficulties in this field, as the
number of those whose academic credentials qualify them and who
were not employed in public schools is very small,
in addition to the weak financial status of most private schools.
Raising the Standard of Private Schools
Furthermore, the Ministry of Education does not hesitate to
seize every opportunity to raise the level of private
schools by providing them with competent teachers,
inspecting them, and auditing their staff lists with the aim of
introducing new elements for teaching in them instead of some
male or female teachers whose academic capacity does not qualify them
for teaching.
The time may come when the Ministry is able
to provide material and moral assistance
on a much wider scale to these schools.

Attempt to Smuggle 32 Jews!
We have learned that Badra police seized a bus last Monday evening carrying
thirty-two Jews, including men and women. The car was pulled to the Badra Police Assistantship
and all its passengers were detained, as was the driver named Muhammad Amin, a resident of Zurbatiyah, and Tawfiq
Haider, a resident of Badra. Last Friday evening, a person named Hassan Abd
al-Hussein, the owner of the car, was arrested by the Baghdad police and sent under guard to Badra
to complete the investigation.
* It is understood from newspaper reports that
Jews are continuing to register their names,
and requesting the revocation of their Iraqi citizenship,
but smuggling - nevertheless - is ongoing at
full speed, and collusive lawsuits
among them occupy the courts.
A Jew Escaped from Iraq
Iraqi money is owed by this fugitive
The esteemed colleague Sawt al-Nas said:
We have learned that the Jew named Ibrahim
Shalom Ezra, the commission merchant in
Khan al-Ramah al-Kabir in Baghdad, has escaped
to Iran, and he owes a Basra merchant,
the notable Saud al-Saleh, a sum of
1500 Dinars, and more is to come...
And we do not know how our merchants remain dealing
commercially with the Jews until this time when
they see the Jews wishing to travel at any
moment to Israel.

Instructions of the Foreign Exchange Control
Regarding the revocation of Iraqi citizenship from Jews
The Foreign Exchange Control has circulated a notice to all banks regarding the revocation of Iraqi citizenship from Jews, which included the following instructions:
1 - Jews whose citizenship has been revoked by law are permitted to take with them travelers' checks, transfers, or checks made out to them to countries of non-rare currencies - except Palestine - in amounts equivalent to the following sums in soft currencies:
a - Twenty dinars for a Jew aged ten years and under.
b - Thirty dinars for those over ten years and under twenty years old.
c - Fifty dinars for those aged twenty years and above.
2 - Jews whose Iraqi citizenship is revoked may take with them banknotes in foreign currencies - except rare currencies and the Palestinian pound - equivalent to fifteen Iraqi dinars, provided that the banknotes do not exceed
that these individuals are considered residents in Iraq.
The Foreign Exchange Control Department has authorized all banks licensed to deal in foreign exchange to certify on its behalf the special forms in this regard, provided that the licensees who carry out the transfer must stamp and endorse the laissez-passer or the document carried by the Jewish traveler whose Iraqi citizenship has been revoked with the amount of the transfer granted by them under the powers granted by this circular, and that no other licensee may carry out any other transfer for the same person whose laissez-passer or travel document has been stamped by another licensee. It has obliged the licensees who will practice these operations to provide it every two weeks with independent schedules including all the forms certified under this circular, containing the form number, the amount of the foreign transfer, the name of the traveler, and the number of his laissez-passer, passport, document, or residency book.

Why Dawud Samih was sentenced to 10 years in prison
Killing, imprisonment, and abuse are the consequences of treason among nations
So what is the reward for traitors and outlaws among the Arabs??
No nation has been afflicted by traitors and outlaws among
its sons except that its share was destruction, dissolution,
and collapse, and whenever the number of traitors and outlaws increased,
the deterioration of the nation increased and its enslavement became easier,
and it became harder for it to progress and rise. Therefore,
we find treason is minimal or non-existent whenever
the nation is in high degrees of sophistication and has better
directed its national sentiment. For the British nation,
whose souls number in the tens of millions,
not a single traitor appeared among its sons throughout the last
World War except for one: Lord (Haw-Haw),
and his punishment was execution,
even though this man did not expose his nation's secrets
nor did he spy on its forces for the benefit of
the enemy, but rather worked only as an announcer for the English section
on German radio.
As for the Arab nation, it has set a strange example
in contradicting nations in everything, even in
(treason), as this scourge was non-existent
among the sons of the Arabs in ancient times when
ignorance and patriotism prevailed in the world,
but treason has permeated the souls of its sons
as time evolved, so traitors have come to compose
a terrifying number among its sons in the age of light,
freedom, and the awakening of peoples. In the era of
Jahiliyyah, when the Arabs had no state or
national or ethnic unity, they killed (Abargal)
and they continue to stone his grave to this day because
he guided the leader of the Abyssinians to the road to Mecca.
Perhaps this man did not intend national treason,
but rather did so out of ignorance and naivety,
yet they made him a symbol of treason so he would be
a lesson for others. In this era, the era of
national uprisings and outbursts of national
feeling, there is no longer for traitors, spies,
those working for the benefit of the Jews, and those participating in
selling Palestine and achieving colonial plans
among the Arabs a share of just retribution,
while we find the lowest of peoples and those furthest
from a sense of national dignity standing
in wait for the traitors among their sons, dealing out
punishment haphazardly for the least reasons affecting
the course of their national movement and those with the weakest danger to
their national interest.
The Vietnamese people, who until today had not known
the taste of freedom and independence, have set
in their new revolution against French colonialism
a strange example of sacrifice and devotion
to the national cause - whatever the color
and reality of their movement - as news arrived from
Paris three days ago stating that the Vietnamese
revolutionaries stopped two of them in Paris
and assassinated a rice merchant from among their own people for his role
in exporting rice to the French forces that
are fighting them in their country. This incident was
the greatest lesson for anyone among the sons of
Vietnam whose soul spoke to them of working for the enemy's benefit, as
the people of Vietnam proved an overwhelming vigilance and a violent
national sentiment that no one doubts will triumph
over French colonialism. So what have we done to the smugglers
of foodstuffs to Israel??
And the Jews, who are the furthest of peoples from
sacrifice and national dignity, did not hesitate
to abuse a number of their sect members, keeping pace
with other nations in their national vigilance.
In news from Israel, the Jewish courts
have issued their sentence against one of the Iraqi Jews
fleeing to it, who is (Dawud Samih), known
in Baghdad circles for his work in circumcising children,
to hard labor for ten years and the dismissal of
his two sons, who were officers, from the Jewish army,
because he was appointed as a supervisor on the Iranian
border to receive Jews fleeing from
Iraq and hand them over to the Zionist association
in Iran to be transported by planes.
It was proven that (Dawud Samih) was taking
bribes for every fugitive he brought to the association,
so his share was this harsh punishment for him
and his two sons, as Israel believed that the bribery
of this Jew might be a reason for delaying
migration and the small number of immigrants, thus
obstructing the Zionist movement.
The Arab nation, if it wants to rise
and achieve national aspirations and get rid of
the clutches of colonialism and Zionism, must
work above all else to cleanse its country of
traitors and outlaws who are content to sell
consciences and homelands for the sake of vanishing vanity.
Arab governments must combat
social criminality such as bribery and its like without
mercy because of the damage and destruction it causes in
the country. Otherwise, let us at least take a lesson from our enemies,
as it is not reasonable for a Jew in Israel to be punished
with the harshest penalties because of bribery, while
proof of bribery is published among us against people who
crowd the departments and institutions, and if one of them is caught,
intercessions and mediations pour in to support
and save him, as happened with the guards of Iraq
months ago.
Jews and Civil Status Books
Every Jew carries more than one book
for concealment and smuggling to avoid deportation
We wrote yesterday about the Jews whose citizenship
was revoked and how other Jews
are still Iraqis filing civil lawsuits
to demand from those whose citizenship was revoked
the remainder of their travel delay, and we urged the officials to
handle this matter accurately and to expel those stripped
of Iraqi citizenship from the country so they
do not sow corruption and incite strife. It has reached
us today that the Jews were not satisfied with filing
false lawsuits against one another, but they even
resorted to keeping civil status books in excess
of one for each of them, and their goal in that
is to mislead those who find them after the revocation of
their citizenship and the seizure of their status book so that they
outside Iraq.
We write these words on the occasion of the current righteous ministry
carrying out its duties in reform affairs in various aspects of concern
to the country, and strengthening specialization and
benefiting from it has had a prominent place in its
great reform program, hoping that
its presence in power will be a good omen for the realization
of this precious wish among the wishes of the country.
We do not fail on this occasion to draw the attention
of the present ministry to the fact that what was discussed in
the local newspapers regarding articles in the Press
and Printing Law is not devoid of a lack
of consideration for specialization because journalism, as
is known, is a profession acquired through experience, practice,
and many trials, and restricting it to
holders of high degrees has no connection

Truman does not expect war to break out
Washington - President Truman declared that he does not believe a third World War
will sweep the world and that the US government will remain a leader of welfare and freedom in the world.
His statement came in a speech he delivered yesterday at a military parade.
Trieste in the Italian Chamber of Deputies
Reasons for sending the Russian memo
Rome - It is expected that the Italian Foreign Minister will speak in the parliamentary debate regarding
Trieste, and the BBC correspondent says it is likely that Russia's memo regarding
Trieste was sent at this time due to the many statements by Italians and Yugoslavs about
the possibility of agreeing on a solution to the Trieste issue.
Czechoslovakia disputes truth and honesty
Cold War between America and the Belgians
Washington - The American Secretary of State responded to the attacks of the Czech government, saying
this government disputes truth and honesty, not the Voice of America radio or the American
information offices. The United States requested Czechoslovakia to close its consulate in Chicago
following the closure of the American information offices in Prague.

Incidents and Local News
Clarification and Explanation
Regarding the column: A Reply to the Servants and Spies of the Thief
This newspaper had written in a previous
issue an article titled (A Reply to the Servants
and Spies of the Thief) and addressed in it
one of the thief's spies in particular and his spies
and tails in general. Some people thought
that we intended them by this word, and some met us
in this regard, and we now emphasize that the one
we intended is a specific person, like hundreds who served
and are still serving the thief of Iraq. As for those who
contacted us regarding this issue, we inform them that they
are not the ones intended by this word. This is published
to clarify what was stuck in their ears, as the thief Ali
Khalid's helpers were countless, and he has many
servants and spies who served and continued
in his service. This does not mean that his service
was limited to a specific group and not others.
Mobile Bookstores
On the street sidewalk
Near Ghazi Park!?
Passersby near King Ghazi Park
notice that there are a number of old book
sellers who have occupied the sidewalk and scattered
hundreds of books and magazines on it, which obstructs
the movement of passersby and blocks their path. Therefore, we demand
the specialized departments to prevent these people from taking
this center because the sidewalk was designated
for people to walk, not to be mobile bookstores.
We hope this will be corrected at the earliest opportunity
possible.
A woman gives birth to a (kid) !!!
So blessed be God, the best of creators.
The midwife Afifa al-Umran was called to deliver a woman living in the Bani Said neighborhood on
Ghazi Street. When she answered the call and began the delivery process, she was appalled by the shape of the newborn
and terrified when she found half of it a (goat) and the other half a (human being).
When they wanted to name it, they were confused about the name to choose for it. So the
midwife took the initiative and informed the first health inspector and told him the news, so he rushed to inspect to clarify
the reality of the matter. He found the newborn strange in creation, with a human head and hanging from
its neck were two large growths ending in black hair, and it had a voice like the voice of a goat. As for its rear,
it was the rear of a goat with thick black hair. It refused to breastfeed, which caused
its death a week after its birth. In the published photo appears (the deformed child)
held by the midwife, and (its breasts) are clearly visible! Also appeared next to the midwife
the first health official, Mr. Abdul Wahab Ahmed.
This incident is the first of its kind in Iraq, as no
newborn like this has been born before.
Glory be to God who shows us wonders in everything and births (goats) from humans for us, and perhaps this is a sign of divine wrath upon his servants as
corruption spread and they followed the paths of evil and denial.
The issue of passenger transport cars
between Baghdad and Kadhimiya and the necessity of determining the number of passengers,
the fare, and the speed to ensure the comfort and safety of the passengers.
The issue of transportation between Baghdad and Kadhimiya
is a complex problem that the residents of
Kadhimiya and those who have interests there, especially
(the visitors), still suffer from its many
evils. For the drivers of private buses
crowd into their cars, which are officially
designated to carry ten passengers, twenty or more.
Three or four people may stand on the wings of the car,
and five or more may sit on the roof of the car.
This is in addition to these drivers driving
at a terrifying speed that may cause and has caused
many disasters. This is besides
the fare, which is not regulated nor has a specific limit.
This is from the perspective of the buses that run
on the Karkh - Kadhimiya line and Bab al-Muazzam -
Kadhimiya line. As for the (Tourn) cars, these
are also another problem, as passengers are often
surprised after riding that the fare is
(50) fils or more, and this is a theft
of the passengers. Therefore, we want from the specialized departments
to order placing a number on every car of this
type for the number of passengers, determining the fare,
and setting a specific limit for speed to ensure the comfort of
the people, secure their rights, and protect them.

Jewish ruses will not prevent us from following our plan
All readers know the direction of Al-Husun
in exposing Zionist intrigues and resisting
elements of sabotage, and what these people perform in terms of
tricks and conspiracies to spread chaos in this
secure country that sheltered them for a long
period of time. For this national stance
taken by Al-Husun, Zionist parties
began inciting their tails and brokers
to resist the newspaper. Among these tails is
(Ghazi Cinema Company), as it informed us of its intention
(in revenge against us) to withdraw its advertisement
for its play that it publishes in Al-Husun,
the price of which is neither fattening nor satisfying hunger,
thinking that this would terrify us or prevent us
from performing our duty. So we had no choice but
to reject its trace before its owners began
withdrawing it, because we, in turn, refuse to defile this
newspaper with this advertisement and its like, as we refuse
for greed to have an impact on our direction and path.
We will continue to perform our mission without fearing
the Zionists, their methods, and their conspiracies.

Stripping Citizenship from Jews
The Council of Ministers strips it from 295 Jews
New lists to be presented to the Council soon
The wave of Jews wishing to have their citizenship revoked has intensified recently in accordance
with the Citizenship Revocation Law recently approved by Parliament. The competent departments have been forced
in view of this to open several offices to register those wishing to leave the country never to return.
(Al-Zaman) has learned that the Council of Ministers considered last week a number of
lists submitted to it with the names of Jews and decided to strip the citizenship of 295 Jews whose names were submitted
in five lists, which are respectively 54, 65, 32, 27, and 117. There are other lists
referred to the Council for consideration during its upcoming meetings.
Some sources indicate that the number of those who have registered to leave Iraq has exceeded two thousand
to date.

The Case of Martial Law in the Country
Raised by Senator Daniel in the Senate
His Excellency the Minister of Justice and His Excellency Al-Said respond to him
When presenting the draft of the Amnesty Law for
those implementing the Martial Law declared
throughout Iraq, His Excellency
Senator Ezra Menachem Daniel spoke in the Senate
yesterday (Wednesday), pointing out
that a body of senior judges was formed in
the Ministry of Justice to audit martial law rulings.
Then he drew the attention of His Excellency the Minister of Justice to
the fact that the martial law rulings issued were issued
and implemented without completing the judicial stages
prescribed for them by the Constitution, as the
amended Article 88 of it considered military courts
among the special courts that
Article 89 of the Constitution mandated the necessity of determining
the methods of appealing or reviewing their rulings and the procedures of
their trials by law. He said that law should have been
issued since Article 88 was amended to determine
the method of appealing or reviewing martial law rulings.
His Excellency the Minister of Justice responded to him
saying that the martial law rulings that were issued
were final and there is no legal way
to enable their reconsideration, whether
they were in violation or not. The Ministry of
Justice took into consideration that there may
be violations that might have occurred, and for this reason
a committee was formed to look into the rulings.
As for forming a special court of cassation to look
into martial law rulings, the Ministry of Justice
will study it.
His Excellency Mr. Mouloud Moukhlis spoke
in support of Senator Ezra Menachem Daniel.
Senator Daniel spoke again, asking
whether there is anything preventing the issuance of the law
or not?
His Excellency Mr. Nuri al-Said spoke,
saying that the appeal in army regulations
and the procedures of trials therein is the Command if
the sentences are below death, and in
death sentences, the appeal is to
His Majesty the King. This situation is not only in the Iraqi
army but in the armies of the world.
If we want to change this situation, we must
declare emergency laws instead of martial law.

332 registered yesterday to renounce their citizenships
The difficulties faced by the registrants
Yesterday, (332) Jewish individuals were registered at the Meir Tuweig Synagogue in preparation
for the renunciation of their Iraqi citizenships, including (87) adults and (145) children.
Some members of the community who are assisting the employees in charge
of registration express their satisfaction with the facilities provided by the government so far, but they
at the same time do not hide the existence of some obstacles, such as the delay occurring between
the initial registration taking place in one of the registration branches in the synagogue and the turn of the
person to sign the citizenship renunciation form at the main registration center at the Meir
Tuweig Synagogue; they are requesting the creation of another main registration center to reduce crowding and to speed up
the completion of transactions. The second issue they complain about is the delay in the issuance of the Council of
Ministers' approval to renounce their citizenship so that they can travel without remaining vulnerable to unemployment.

Reconsidering Martial
Sentences as Well
For nearly a week, local newspapers
have been indicating the current government's intention
to fulfill what its head promised in the Chamber
of Deputies regarding the reconsideration of the sentences
issued by the martial courts, and
newspaper coverage of this subject has doubled
after His Excellency the Minister of Justice stated in
the Senate that his ministry had formed
a committee to scrutinize the aforementioned sentences.
Newspapers indicated yesterday that
the Royal Decree has been submitted to His
Highness the Great Regent for approval to pardon
some convicts on the occasion of the birthday anniversary
of His Majesty the Great King, which falls
on the second day of this month "tomorrow."
We have inquired with the relevant departments
about the truth of this, and we learned that the decree
will be issued to pardon some convicts sentenced to financial
guarantees who were unable to pay and were imprisoned.
As for the other sentences, the matter of
reconsidering them will be studied soon, and in
any case, public opinion awaits an official
statement on this subject.

Among the acts of sabotage that the Jews have recently resorted to after they finished

The Oil Company Agent
