Jews in Arab Countries
Proposal to treat them as Arabs are treated in Israel
Cairo - The All-Palestine Government submitted, in one of the meetings held by
the Council of the League of Arab States here, a memorandum regarding allowing Jews in the countries to emigrate from them
to Israel, at a time when the property of Arab Palestinians in Israel is being confiscated and
unjust laws are being enacted against them. The Palestinian government requested the application of the principle of reciprocity,
meaning the confiscation of the property of Jews in Arab countries. It was decided to refer this memorandum to the
Political Committee
Passport Forgery
to Palestine
Our correspondent learned that an old Jewish gang
has begun forging passports, and it
is taking hundreds of Jews out of Iraq
using these forged passports along with amounts
of money
At the head of this forgery gang
is the person named Ezra Muhallab bin Hazqiyal, of Iraqi
nationality, and Mirza Agha Harunian bin Agha Mal
and Fayzullah Allah Al-Yahudi bin Lutf Allah
and Maysoon Harunian bin Babakhan. These people
managed to forge the stamps of police stations
No. 3 and No. 13, and the case is now
under investigation by the Directorate of General Police
and the Public Prosecution

Migration of Iraqi Jews
It has been noted that the number of Jews who have registered
their names in preparation to leave Iraq for
Israel has increased; the demand for registration has grown
especially after Passover, and the
responsible authorities are organizing the registration of those emigrating from Iraq.
It is believed that a large number of Jews are
ready to travel at any moment and are waiting for
the completion of legal procedures to revoke their
citizenship. What is said regarding the route that
those going to Israel will take is that
the traveler from Iraq will go by air
to Cyprus and from there to Haifa by sea.

Enemies of the Arabs, whether in Israel or anywhere else
The Jews cause disturbances, disturb the peace, and live off security
And they destroy, sabotage, and kill whenever they find a way to do so
In the very recent past, the Jews threw, as we believe,
A gifted bomb from the remnants of the British army
In Al-Bataween, and the explosion of the bomb led to
Wounding and destruction, and yesterday one of the
Jews opened fire in Al-Bataween as well. And we do not
Know why, and what is the purpose of that?!?
At a time when the government has facilitated for the Jews
Their exit and established a law for them
Allowing them to leave the country and stripping citizenship
From them so they may go to Hell and a miserable fate
To where there is no return and no coming back, they began
To spread anxiety, fabricate deeds, and promote
Allegations with the aim of confusing Iraqi public opinion
And creating uproars that disturb the government and shake
The country's entity. They have persisted in this with money
And in bulk, to the point that they became reckless in it
With the utmost recklessness and showed the insolence of which they are
Worthy
The Jews did not want to leave
Iraq on the basis of stripping citizenship
From them and depriving them of returning permanently
Rather, they wanted to roam and play freely
Between Western Palestine and Iraq, so the
Law of stripping citizenship from the Jews came as a
Crushing blow that disturbed their sleep and disappointed their hopes
So they began to act out of spite, hatred, and animosity
With everything they could do
It is well known that the Jews are cowardly people
They do not appear in the light and do not wake up
They are like bats, and today they take the darkness
As a veil of malice, and deception as a weapon,
Intrigue as a means, and degradation as a
Policy; they have not left any of these types
Or any of these forms without committing them
And working upon them
They corrupted consciences, infected souls, and defiled
Spirits and dirtied hands; there is no vice
In this country except that its source is the Jews, and there is
No shame except from the planting of the Jews, and there is no
Lechery except from the Jews, and no sedition except

Jews flock to registration centers
A premeditated plan and orders from abroad according to the migration project to Jerusalem...!!!
The reluctance of Jews wishing to
renounce Iraqi citizenship and travel
outside Iraq before Passover
then their rush to the registration offices after
the end of the holiday caught the attention of many
But the truth is that the matter does not call
for surprise, as these Jews
do not leave Iraq because the doors of work
have been closed in their faces as some
of them claim, but they do so according to a plan
premeditated and orders they receive from abroad.
Dr. Josephthal, Director of
Immigrant Absorption in the Jewish Agency,
stated at a press conference held in New York
on the twentieth of last month that
the total Jewish migration from Iraq
will begin after Passover and that
the immigrants will take the air route
to hasten their departure from Iraq before
the government proceeds to cancel the permission for their migration.
Among what he also said: "The Jewish Agency
will accept Jewish immigrants from
Iraq despite the lack of allocations
for that in its budget for the year 1950, and it
will be forced to spend on their housing in
Israel 60,000,000 dollars, a matter
which will place it in a financial crisis."
[Ninety percent migrate]
The Jewish Chronicle correspondent in Beirut
claims that 90 percent of Iraqi Jews,
whose number is estimated at more
than 120 thousand, intend to renounce Iraqi
citizenship and leave Iraq. He says that
their pioneers have begun traveling now to Iran
where they take planes to
Israel.
[The role of Syrian Jews]
The aforementioned correspondent says that
the initiative of Iraqi Jews to leave Iraq
is considered the first step towards settling
the problem of the Jewish minority in Arab countries
in a final way, and he claims that
the Syrian government is now preparing a law
to strip Syrian citizenship from Jews
and allow them to leave the country.
[Camps]
We had heard before this from Tel
Aviv that representatives of the Jewish Agency consulted
with the Jewish Minister of Labor regarding the coordination
of plans to house Jews coming from
Iraq. 20,000 places will be prepared
in the current refugee camps to shelter
these dear guests..!
[A heavy burden on Israel]
The Jewish Chronicle newspaper
published in London wrote saying:
"The government of Israel has decided
to accept Jewish immigrants from Iraq
despite the fact that this creates a very
complex problem for it. This decision affects
Israel from two aspects, as the
housing of every ten thousand Iraqi Jewish immigrants
costs it 10,000,000 dollars every
month. This means that at the end of the year
when 80,000 of these immigrants
have entered Israel, it becomes inevitable
for it to spend 80,000,000 dollars
every month to house them."
The Jewish Ministry of Finance has estimated
that it will be forced to spend 2,500
dollars to house every individual of the
Iraqi Jews in Israel; in other words,
the housing operation for these immigrants
in its entirety will cost it 200,000,000
dollars!
[Reconsidering the migration policy]
The newspaper said that Israel
will allocate from the public treasury during
the next two or three years about half
of this amount, and the rest will be provided by private industries
and companies. The general rule
is that five or six years must pass
for the immigrant so they can be absorbed
into the local economy so they are no longer a burden
on the general budget or associations.
In view of the flowing stream of migration from
Iraq, Israel may be forced to reconsider
its migration policy and stop accepting

The rest of the Jews are enemies of the Arabs
Among the Jews, there is no excess or discord
or or .. except that it is from the Jews . . .
The Jews are, in any case, enemies of the Arabs in general
and of Iraq in particular, whether they are in the Arab
countries and in Iraq or in western Palestine.
They do not enjoy life nor do they find rest unless
they tamper, disturb, and commit sins,
a nature they were imprinted with and a character they were molded
into. And if misery, supplication, fawning,
and submissiveness appear from them, it is nothing
but the malice of their souls and their lack of resourcefulness.
But whenever the opportunity allows them, they pounce
for revenge without a compelling reason, and they resort
to spite without justification. Their creed mandates
harm to the worlds, and their dark material religion
obliges them to commit abominations for the sake of
the goal they seek. Among their rules is:
(The end justifies the means)
Take, for example, the Jews who enjoyed themselves in
Iraq and prospered by it, so they owned properties,
seized the markets, managed the funds,
took the lion's share of living, and slept
in the country peacefully and comfortably. No one disturbed
their peace, and no one differentiated between them and any other
citizen, until they became the ones in control
of all the country's facilities and the owners of its riches.
No one taunted them with anything that would cause them the slightest
agitation, and no one hurt them with anything
that would call for any kind of pain. They were,
in this soft state, opponents of every national
movement and a factor of destruction, turmoil, confusion,
and exploitation.
As soon as the English entered the country, they became
the spies and those working to spite
the people of the country. When the national government was established,
they came forward in the vanguard, reaping the fruits of the blood
of the country's sons and picking the flowers of what jihad
had planted. We said nothing but good to them, and we said that
is a nation that has passed away; it has what it earned and it bears what
it accrued. But they were not satisfied with that,
so they remained a support for the country's enemies and fierce opponents
on every occasion and time.
If they have the chance, they create disturbances
to hunt spoils for Israel, and if it happens
to them, they disturb the peace to leap for Israel,
and if they are able, they wreak havoc and corrupt for the sake of
Israel. If opportunities arise, they harm
and strike out of spite against those who oppose Israel,
and if they can, they betray and kill in revenge
for Israel. And Israel had not yet become even a fantasy
or a ghost. So what do they do now when they
see that there is an Israel and that there is a small alleged
state called Israel, and that the name
of Israel has begun to be repeated on people's tongues
and in films? No doubt they commit deeds
and perform actions for the sake of Israel.
So the government and the people must
be vigilant against these Israeli strangers
who denied the blessing, preferred migration,
and rose up in rebellion.

Turnout for renouncing citizenship among Jews
The turnout continues to increase and the crowding intensifies at the registration center of Meir
Tweig Synagogue, where the registration of Jews wishing to renounce their citizenship is taking place. The number of
those who were registered the day before yesterday (Wednesday) reached 228 people, including 138 men
and the rest are under the age of conscription. It is understood that the Council of Ministers has revoked the citizenship of
those who had previously completed the citizenship renunciation formalities, as the committee supervising
the registration had finished auditing the mentioned citizenship renunciation forms.
Registration will continue in the other branches that were opened recently for the same purpose
to alleviate the crowding, then they are submitted from the branches to the main registration center in Meir
Tweig Synagogue where they are signed before the committee formed for this purpose.

immigrants from other regions. However,
this measure is not of much use, as
the regulated number accepted at the
present time is 12,000 immigrants per month
and the aforementioned measure may bring it down
to 10,000 per month, but the arrival
of no less than this number from Iraq
will jump the total number of immigrants to
20,000 per month, which is a huge number
that current means and crowded camps
cannot accommodate.
| What is the secret behind Iraq's position? |
Accordingly, the matter that calls for
questioning is whether the Iraqi government's
final decision to allow the Jews to leave
was for the purpose of increasing Israel's
economic troubles, especially since all indications point
to the fact that the immigrants from Iraq are the poor
Jews and their disgruntled youth, while the wealthy of
Baghdad and Basra, who form the cornerstone
of the Iraqi economy,
will remain in Iraq? ..
[ A decision that makes them beg for help ]
The Israeli authorities do not hide
the acute problems that have arisen from this
Iraqi government decision. However, they
believe that the severity of the crisis and the challenge
it entails, may result in good for them..
as this new Israeli ordeal may help
shake the Jewish world outside
Israel, as happened in the year 1948,
and thus financial aid will pour in for them
after it had dropped significantly in
the past year. »

* Jews are thieves, as stated in
the third chapter of the Book of Exodus:
"Every woman shall ask of her neighbor and of
the one who resides in her house articles of silver and articles of gold,
and clothing, and you shall put them on your sons and your daughters
so you shall plunder the Egyptians." This is not limited
to plundering the Egyptians, but every non-
Jewish person. So beware of the Jews, O heedless ones!

Jews wishing to renounce citizenship
Their numbers increased and new registration centers opened
The work of registering the names of Jews wishing to renounce their Iraqi citizenship continued.
The registration process is supervised by the Director of Travel and Nationality Police, Mr. Muhammad Abdul Aziz.
Due to the heavy turnout at the main registration center in Mir Twayeg Church, new
registration centers were opened in churches, where lists of names of those wishing to leave
Iraq permanently are submitted to the aforementioned main registration center.
Yesterday, the names of 95 heads of families were registered along with 78 children, and the day before yesterday
280 people were registered.
The Amara Brigade police sent the names of 43 Jews who wished to renounce their Iraqi citizenship.
The number of Jews requesting renunciation of citizenship reached about five hundred, and the Travel
and Nationality Police are submitting the transactions of these individuals to the Council of Ministers.
It is known that the Council of Ministers has not yet decided on the transaction of renouncing the Iraqi citizenship
of these Jews.
After renouncing their citizenship, a Jew has the right to remain in Iraq for a period of only twenty days.

The necessity of announcing the names of
Jews wishing to emigrate
Among the Jews who wish to emigrate
from Iraq and renounce their citizenship are a large number
of those who work with some non-Jewish citizens
in clerical or accounting work
and the like, and many of them are indebted
to their employers for some amount of money - small or large.
Some of them may prepare themselves to leave Iraq
and renounce their citizenship without their employers'
knowledge, or rather, they try to ensure
no news of their intentions reaches them.
Therefore, we believe that the competent authorities should
announce the names of those whose citizenship has been revoked
a suitable time before their departure from Iraq,
so that those who have financial relations with them can work
to settle these relations in one way or another.

Police combat smuggling movements
Since Mr. Abd al-Sahib, the former director of
the Desert Police, took over the Police Directorate of Diyala
Province, he has focused on its organization and instructed all
police personnel on the necessity of treating applicants
kindly and completing their business in the shortest time
He also struck at the hands of troublemakers, criminals,
and thieves, which made everyone's tongues speak
with praise for him. This is in addition to the strict
surveillance he imposed on the bridgeheads
on the borders to monitor Jews fleeing to
Iran. Since His Excellency took the reins
of affairs, he has tightened the guard on these
ungrateful, treacherous Jews who have begun smuggling
national wealth to the alleged Israel.
The police have begun seizing daily several
cars trying to escape from the direction of Khanaqin
or Mandali or the Baqubah crossing or
from other directions and presenting them
to the criminal courts where they receive their punishment.
It is worth mentioning that among those fleeing are
many women who have become skilled in smuggling
jewelry and cash amounts in their undergarments,
so much so that one of them hid gold jewelry
weighing about 500 mithqals between
her breasts. And another hid 1600 dinars in
her internal "underwear", but the alertness of the police
and their caution overcame these tricks and they were able
to arrest these traitors and were able to
find the amounts by searching the Jewish
women by Muslim women from the families of
police officers prepared for this purpose, and they were
taken to the courts to receive their just
punishment.

Search Them
For the Jews are criminal people, skilled thieves, and capable robbers
So search them and be thorough in the search when they are removed or when they leave
Lest they carry the wealth of the country with them
⟦line⟧
Yesterday the police found (500)
Mithqals of gold between the breasts of a Jewish woman
And (1600) Dinars in the (underwear)
Of another Jewish woman, through the efforts of Mr. Abd al-Sahib
Director of Police for the Diyala Province, his assistants, and those working
With him of commissioners and police. And we have published
This news in the issue released on (Friday)
And here we desire most strongly to warn
That the Jews are criminal people and skilled
Thieves and trained robbers among them; they do not leave
Any trick of the tricks except that they resort to it, nor
Any means of the means except that they use it
To smuggle money, steal it, hide it,
And seize it. There is no difference for the Jews in
That, whether they stayed or left, for they have no habit
Except harming, extortion, plundering, and looting
By satanic, despicable methods full of cowardice,
Meanness, degradation, lowliness, swindling, and fraud.
The Jews do not want to leave in the country
Which they depart from, or the kingdom which they leave,
Anything of money, because the earth and what is in it and what
Is on it, what moves and crawls, what stands and sits, what flows
And what freezes, all of it belongs to Israel and the children of Israel.
And people, according to their claim, are usurping oppressors,
Because people, according to their claim, are slaves to Israel
And to the children of Israel. So it is the right of Israel
And the children of Israel to exploit people and what is in
The hands of people, and to possess what people have
And what people produced, because people and the earth with them
Were created for Israel and the children of Israel.
Furthermore, if Israel is not able to
Control people or possess people
And what people own, then Israel must
Resort to all kinds of means and
Take every easy and difficult path to reach the extortion
Of what people have and to the enslavement of people. And
Israel and the children of Israel must not feel embarrassed
By anything in this path and for this purpose,
Even if the matter leads them to expend what is shameful
To expend, and to give what gives the illusion of walking in
Status.
Indeed, this cursed materialist creed, devoid
Of every spiritual matter and everything that is moral
And equal, pushes them toward evil forcefully and brings them down
To vice in a descent. Therefore, the Children of
Israel remained with all nations as a burden on
The nations like parasites, sucking blood and hoarding
Money, committing atrocities, engaging in
Indecency and evil, and spreading among people
Abomination and shame.
Indeed, a people whose spirit is this and whose beliefs are these

The necessity of publishing the names of Jews whose citizenships are being revoked
To guarantee the rights of the people who have financial
ties with them and to protect their property
Purge the stations of Jewish carpenters
These are thieves and criminals who intend harm
In a previous issue, we requested the officials to publish
the names of the Jews who registered their names requesting
the revocation of their Iraqi citizenship to travel to
their government, to which they have linked their fate.
We said that many Iraqis have various
transactions with most of these Zionist
migrants, and that not publishing their names
greatly harms those Iraqi citizens who have
dealings with them. These transactions mostly
relate to mortgages and claims that their owners
cannot obtain if the names of these Jews,
who will leave Iraq, are kept as a secret
arrangement that the Iraqi public is not informed of.
For the sake of this serious issue, we repeat our request to
the relevant departments regarding the necessity of speeding up
the publication of these names a sufficient time before their departure
so that those who have a relationship with them or an account
in their debt can take the necessary measures
and procedures to collect what is owed to them. In
this, the rights of citizens are preserved and their
money is protected.
In the railway customs stations, in the customs
warehouses, and in other parts of state institutions,
there are many Jewish carpenters.
Some of them are rebellious Iraqi Jews,
some are foreign Iranian Jews,
and some are from other places.
They work in these places and open
boxes - the boxes of merchants' goods -
for customs purposes. Since all these Jews,
as we believe and as all people believe, are
criminals and thieves, and it is feared, moreover, that
they might place things in these boxes that might
cause great harm and grave misfortune to Iraqi
merchants and the country, it is a duty
to remove this clique and replace them
with other Iraqis who are currently loitering in
cafes without work.
Employing the righteous sons of the country who are
in dire need of work is better and more useful
than employing these corruptors whose evil is feared
and whose treachery is not safe. The sons of Iraq,
who are the people of the country and its reformers,
they and their fathers before them are more entitled than others
to live in the land of their growth and the burial places
of their fathers and grandfathers.
As for the intruders, the rebels, and the
denying, apostate Jews, they should go
to hell.
The strange thing is that most of the merchants
involved in the matter are afraid even
to complain about these Jews and fear them
lest they cause them more harm than
what they are causing now, because they are multifaceted people
and they have methods of fraud and deception
that lead them to their goals. Therefore, we see
these merchants patiently enduring the bitterness of what
they suffer from them, fearing them intensely,
and even managing them and trying to win their favor.
We desire those who have this matter in their hands
to remove these lowlifes from the path of the sons
of the nation and make room for the unemployed
carpenters among the sons of the country.

The rest—search them
And this is his disposition and this is his nature, it is not possible
and it will never be possible for him to be purified of his impurities, nor
to be rid of his filth, nor to abandon
his evils, nor for his side to be trusted, nor to
tolerate him in anything, because tolerance with him
leads to perdition, and breaking away from him leads
to ruin. Nations before us have tried that,
and we have tried this in the past,
and here we are suffering from the bitterness of tolerance
now in the present.
The Jews are now leaving our country to where there is
no return, and to Hell and a miserable fate, but
there should be strictness in searching them because they are capable
of reducing the quantity and increasing the value, for
the Iraqi Jew might be able to carry with him
what is estimated at tens of thousands of dinars
without that being seen or noticed by
substituting pearls for gold, diamonds for silver,
paper for gold and silver, and for
small denomination papers, a single paper
or several papers of large
denominations.
The Jew will not carry with him mattresses
and furniture, but he carries with him jewel necklaces,
pearl beads, and large banknotes,
and these things he can hide from
the observers and from hands in various ways
and strange satanic states and with measures that may not
come to mind and are only reached by someone
given supernatural intelligence and piercing insight. Therefore, what
we must do is conduct the search on these
rebellious renegades with the utmost vigilance, severity,
and precision. Search their bags and turn them over thoroughly,
and look into them for a long time, and search the cavities
that may be created in them, their heels, their linings,
the thick and the soft parts of them. Search the clothes,
their linings, and every part of them, the sleeves
and their folds. Search everything and every thing in them.
Do not leave anything out of them, neither small nor large,
neither a small thing nor a large thing. Search the women with precision
and skill, and search the men with cleverness and severity.
Search their frames and examine their bodies,
and probe into the most obscure places of their bodies
and their frames so that they do not smuggle anything. Exert
effort in that and praise everything that occurs to you
to do in the searching and probing, so that perhaps
you can limit their activity and stand
to some extent in the way of recovering what they steal
and smuggle.

Foreign Exchange Statement regarding
Amounts Jews are permitted to take out with them
The Foreign Exchange Control Committee issued a statement addressed to banks authorized to deal in
foreign exchange regarding the amounts permitted for Jews who renounce their Iraqi citizenship
to carry when they leave Iraq permanently. It was stated in this statement that these individuals
will be allowed to carry the permitted amounts in the form of "traveler's checks" or "transfers"
or "checks" made out to them to countries with non-scarce currencies, except Palestine, according to
the statement of the Foreign Exchange Controller, which allows every Jew aged ten years or less
twenty dinars; those over ten years and under twenty years, thirty
dinars; and Jews aged twenty years and above, fifty dinars.
The statement allows each of these individuals to carry with them the equivalent of fifteen dinars in
foreign banknotes, except for scarce currencies and the Palestinian pound, provided that
this does not include more than five British pounds, and that these
amounts are deducted from the quota allowed for each individual.
The provisions of this statement apply to foreign Jews residing in Iraq who
leave Iraq, provided that sufficient evidence is provided that they were considered residents in Iraq.
The new instructions give those authorized to deal in foreign exchange the authority
to implement these instructions without referring to the Foreign Exchange Department. They must stamp
every travel permit card in their possession with their name, granted to every Iraqi Jew whose
Iraqi citizenship is revoked, or the passport of a foreign Jew residing in Iraq, indicating
on it the amount permitted to be carried. No person authorized to deal in foreign exchange may
issue a transfer of any amount to persons whose papers or passports have already been stamped
by another authorized party.
Those authorized for foreign exchange mentioned, as stated in the instructions, will
submit the account with the names of the persons for whom the transfers were issued and the numbers of the travel
permit cards or their passports and residence books for foreigners.
It was also stated in the mentioned instructions that Jews who renounce their Iraqi
citizenship, as well as foreign Jews, are excluded from the previous instructions regarding the amounts
permitted for travelers outside Iraq.
248 registered yesterday to renounce their citizenship
The first caravan leaves after a week
The demand is intensifying day after day at the registration centers for Jews wishing to renounce
their Iraqi citizenship; 248 people registered yesterday. The first batch
consisting of 95 people will leave Iraq during the next week, as the Council of Ministers sent to
the competent departments the papers regarding their financial clearance, and these are the last stages of renouncing citizenship.
It was noted that the registration center in the Meir Tweig Synagogue is facing some difficulties
due to the lack of a telephone in it, which forces those in charge of registration to return
to the competent departments in person, leading to some slowness and stoppage in
the registration work.

Our readers recall that the conference of Iraqi
Chambers of Commerce which convened in Basra
a short while ago - had recommended to the government
among its recommendations the enactment of a law considering Friday
a general official holiday. This recommendation

this, telegrams and petitions poured in upon us
from various quarters bearing hundreds and thousands
of signatures in support of this, and we hope that
the government will respond to the people's request. Furthermore,
we will continue to publish the petitions successively, starting
with what came to us from Hillah. The petition bears

From Khanaqin
Muhammad Ali al-Khatib
Who convicted Jews attempting to flee with the most persuasive argument
As soon as His Excellency the new Qaimaqam of Khanaqin District, Mr. Hikmat al-Hashimi, arrived, people rejoiced at his coming; upon the arrival of the new Qaimaqam, Mr. Muhammad Ali al-Khatib left Khanaqin returning to his original post (Directorate of Qarah Tappah Subdistrict) after having served as acting head of the district in the best possible manner. Mr. Muhammad Ali al-Khatib needs no introduction; he is one of the firm youth and a resolute administrative official, broad-minded and of unparalleled intelligence. We mention as an example that when he was in his subdistrict, the police found a number of Jews attempting to flee across the Iraqi border to Iran. When the police led them to the station, His Excellency the Director arrived and saw them wearing disguises over their clothes, as one was wearing a (Yashmagh) and another a dishdasha over a jacket and trousers, and so on. The Professor realized a sensitive point to prove the crime against them, so he took a picture of them without them noticing, printed several copies, and handed a copy to the station officer, telling him to keep it for the day of the trial to present it to the head of the court. When the Jews tried before the court to escape what was attributed to them, claiming they had come for a picnic, the investigator refuted their claim by presenting the picture of them wearing the flight and disguise clothes. The military court at the time was convinced and convicted them. This is an incident we mention in praise of Mr. Muhammad Ali al-Khatib's good conduct in combating smuggling and other activities across the Iraqi border into Iran.
There is no doubt that these mighty actions, which indicate experience and perception, warrant thanks and appreciation.

Arrest of (32) Jews in Badra
They were intending to flee
On the 19th of this month, while Mr. Ibrahim al-Khafaji, Qaimaqam of Badra District, Mr. Abdullah al-Nasiri, the judge in the said district, and the Assistant Police Chief Mr. Mardan al-Saad were patrolling the border, a bus driven by (Muhammad Amin Shawli) appeared to them. They stopped it and found in it (32 Jews), 17 young men and 15 girls. The driver was trying to cross the border with them via Sayyid Raouf's orchard, then Al-Jazeera, then Al-Shuwayja until Zurbatiyah subdistrict and from there to Iran. They arrested them and they were led to the subdistrict center where quantities of gold, dirhams, and clothes were seized with them.
Discovery of the smuggling of 60 Jews
By chance in Badra
A few days ago, a Bedouin man named Furda bin Samar approached the Badra police complaining about a colleague who stabbed him with a dagger. When asked about the reasons, he replied that some time ago they raided a caravan of Jews numbering (60) people in the desert between Badra and the Iranian border and robbed them of what they had. When they wanted to divide the spoils, they disagreed, so that man stabbed him with the dagger. The judge Mr. Abdullah al-Nasiri and the assistant Mr. Mardan al-Saad moved to the scene of the incident to conduct the investigation. There, with one of the Bedouins, they found all the belongings that were robbed from the Jews who had crossed the border fleeing. These individuals claimed that people from the inhabitants of Sheikh Saad were the ones who smuggled these Jews, so the investigation continued to identify them.

Departure .. without return
A journey to the Promised Land!
This is the Meir Tweig Synagogue
where Jews are being registered who
want to travel to the land of
the promise .. after renouncing
their Iraqi nationality .. they are from
all classes and from all
ages .. women and men ..
you look at their faces and cannot
read in them anything that indicates
joy .. nor anything that indicates
sadness .. they move
like machines .. they are on their way
to the unknown world.. they grew up
here.. they, their fathers and grandfathers..
but they are now ready
to go .. departure without return ..
to travel to the Promised Land ..
Iraq was their homeland once ..
they enjoyed it .. but they remained
dreaming of the homeland .. so the
« diaspora » no longer pleased them!
I said to one of them: Have you studied
all that may result from your decision
to travel?
He felt shy .. and when I told him that I
was a man of the press, and I
wanted nothing but to know the truth ..
he began to speak to me with enthusiasm ..
and with boldness .. and with much
fanaticism that reminded me of what I read
about the fanaticism of the Nazi Party
youth!
Some of them gathered around us ..
among them a girl who stood up, she too,
to speak .. and phrases escaped from between
her lips indicating that every
thing is being done according to a plan, and that travel
to the Promised Land is proceeding as
it was drawn .. not here but in
Tel Aviv!
And I told the youth that the
economic situation in Israel is of
great sensitivity, and that the
situation there might not please them!
He said that he is going there,
and he is ready to bear
all hardships, he said this
with faith ..
I wandered for an hour or more,
then I came out with one result,
which is that all of these people
were dreaming of Israel,
dreaming night and day!
And here they are on their way to the land of
dreams!
They lived here for hundreds of years
.. but during them they were
thinking of their other homeland,
and these are young women and men on
the verge of traveling to be among
the soldiers of Israel, as for us
Arabs, we are still until now
talking, and talking, and
nothing but talking about the pending
issues, and the differences that
we created between ourselves,
and Israel is near us ..
getting stronger and preparing, and gathering
its crowds to achieve the rest of its projects!
So when will we wake up from dreams
and face reality and prepare for it
so that we are not surprised again as
we were surprised during the Battle of Palestine?

The Most Dangerous Pickpocketing and Theft Gang in Baghdad
A School for Teaching the Principles of Pickpocketing and the Arts of Theft
He uses the trade of selling empty bottles as a cover for his thefts and serious crimes
The police have recently taken their pledge
Present in pursuing criminals and eliminating them
And cutting off their roots, by allocating special patrols
To track suspects. While the corporal of the detachment
Monitoring suspects for the Abakhana area, number
788, accompanied by First Policeman number 433
Were conducting their patrol in (Akd al-Nasara)
And while passing through the alley of (Akd al-Arid)
They saw one of the suspects named Haskil
Abdullah, nicknamed (Nouri Munshi), aged
17 years, a repeat offender, walking in the company of
Another suspect named Jassim Safiya. To prevent
Their escape, they sent another secret policeman
To cut off their escape route. Indeed, he advanced
The third policeman approached the suspects and tried
To arrest them. When Jassim Safiya noticed
That this policeman wanted to arrest him and
His colleague, he drew a dagger on him and wanted to stab him
Had the corporal and his colleague not arrived in time
Appropriately and managed to take the dagger from the hand of
The perpetrator before his hand fell upon the policeman
The poor man, and they managed to arrest (Nouri)
While (Jassim) tried to flee, but
The detachment managed to seize him and lead him
To the Abakhana police station. Here, during
The investigation, the most wicked criminal was unveiled
And the most dangerous Jew in Baghdad, along with a large number of
His assistants, as stated in the confession of (Nouri)
Indicating the existence of a school for graduating thieves
And pickpockets. To the readers, here is what we were able to obtain
From various sources regarding this gang
And its evils.
Let us take the reader back 8 years ago
When Haskil Abdullah was a child of nine
Years old. At that time, he was taken in by Munshi
Haskil Nathan, who gave him the name (Nouri)
The boy Abdullah Haskil (or Nouri
Munshi) stands next to Munshi Nathan
Haskil, and behind them appeared the corporal
Who arrested them
Munshi) and trained him in theft and pickpocketing and began
Leaving him to steal and plunder people's money
And take it to Munshi, who would dispose of it.
This (Nouri) was arrested several times
And thrown into the reformatory school and prison, and
Every time he came out of prison, he would find
Before him one or two of Munshi's followers
Leading him, willingly or unwillingly, to Munshi's house
To return to his previous ways of theft and pickpocketing.
This (Nouri) tried repeatedly to
Escape from them, but they were forcing him to
Return to their work by various means, the easiest
Of these ways was forcing him through beating
And harm in this manner. In most cases,
The one doing the forcing was the criminal Jassim Abdullah
(Jassim Safiya), who had broken into
On 18-4-950 the iron safe belonging
To the merchant (Muhammad al-Sheikh) in the Ras al-Qarya neighborhood.
But he forgot, when he left safe and sound, that
His fingerprints were on the (lamp) when
He removed them from their place, and he also forgot that
His (skullcap) fell from his head, containing a (prayer)
Registered in his name (for protection). Since then,
The police have been serious about arresting him until the day
Of the incident we are discussing.
The last time he came out of prison,
(Nouri) even left Baghdad, but he was surprised
On the road by being surrounded by three of the colleagues of
(Munshi Haskil Nathan) led by the one named
(Khalil Mickey), and they threatened to beat him
And tie him up and go with him, so he did the heinous act,
Then they would lead him if he did not agree to accompany them
To Munshi's house, where he would return to his old ways.
Thus, this boy was returned to the sinful house
And evil. When he was returned to Munshi's house, he took him
Munshi, as usual, to wander through the neighborhoods
And to steal the money of God's peaceful servants. The method
Of (Munshi), innovative in theft, is that he carries
Munshi on his shoulder a (burlap sack) and walks with him
(Nouri) in the alleys and roads, calling out
At the top of his voice (Bottles, skewers, ⟦...⟧
And scent for sale) while looking around him, hoping to find
A house with its door open and its residents distracted.
At that point, he sits at the door of the house and places
His (bag) in front of him while fiddling with the (skewers)
And the bottles in it, and (Nouri) enters
Inside the house where he carries whatever his hand falls upon
And gives it to (Munshi), who puts it in his bag
And carries it and walks away. In this way, he was able to steal
Without attracting people's attention to him, for if
Someone saw him standing at the door of the house,
They would think he had bought from this house a number of
Bottles or other items.
The strangest incidents are those that occurred after
(Nouri) was returned to (Munshi's) fold
For the last time. These incidents occurred
A while ago, perhaps not exceeding fifteen
Days, as (Nouri) and (Munshi) stole
A theft in Abakhana from house number 185/22
Located in the (Nasara) neighborhood, which turned out
To be inhabited by Mr. Younis Hormuz.
And the theft of a stove from house number 178/24
In the Sababigh al-Al neighborhood, inhabited by
Victoria Ibrahim, and the theft of a (robe) from
House number 17/204, and this was confirmed by
The owners of the mentioned houses.
We have learned that (Nouri) has confessed
To all of this, saying: (Whenever I wanted to
Get rid of them, I couldn't, and I want
This time to be imprisoned so I can be free, and let Munshi be imprisoned with me).
He also said that Munshi had
Given him one dinar in exchange for the two white items,
And (150) fils for the robe.
These incidents related to Munshi Haskil
Nathan, the most dangerous Jew in Baghdad in cases of
Theft and pickpocketing, which emerged from the statement of
(Nouri). The investigating judge decided
To detain them and conduct a search in
Munshi's house. When the
Inspection was carried out by the officer of the Abakhana police station
And their investigator, nothing was found
In the house of the accused Munshi, but an old well in
The house caught the attention of the station officer, so he sent
For a (diver) and gave him
(A quarter dinar) in exchange for diving into this
Well and bringing out what he might find in it. He
Went down to the bottom of the well, which had not remained for a long time
In the well, but the time it remained in the water
Did not exceed fifteen days.
All members of Munshi's family denied
Their knowledge of (Nouri), but after the investigation
With him, they confessed that he had been living with them for years.
As for the accused Jassim Safiya, he is a dangerous repeat
Offender, and before this case, an arrest warrant
Had been issued against him by the investigating authority
For committing theft and pickpocketing in the Bab al-Sheikh area,
And another warrant for his arrest
For kidnapping a (boy) from the Bani Said area.
We were able to obtain information
About the most dangerous school in Iraq, as
Jassim Safiya is Munshi's right-hand assistant and runs
A school for teaching the principles of pickpocketing and the arts
Of theft to Jewish children brought by Munshi.
He stipulated that no one over the age of six
Should join this school.
The number of students in his school currently is
Year, as (Nouri) said, and Nouri declared

Fifty Jewish men and women
Trying to escape from Basra, among them Jewish dancers
The following letter came to us from our correspondent in Basra:
On the night of 12-13-4-950, after the people had
Slept and it was nearly half past twelve,
At this time, some Iraqi army officers
Were riding in a car far outside the borders of
Basra city, in the lands of
Darkness, and their attention was drawn to people who wanted
To find out the news of this shadow. As soon as
They turned the steering wheel of their car toward that
Shadow, they found five people who were
Clinging to the ground. The officers stopped their car
And got out to investigate them. It became clear to them
That these were Jews (two women, two boys,
And a man). When asked about the reason for their presence
In this place and at such a late hour
Of the night, they stated that they were waiting for a car
To take them to the station. The truth was that they
Were waiting for a car to take them outside the
Iraqi borders to Palestine. Therefore, there was nothing
For our brave officers to do but arrest
Them and lead them to the Ashar police station,
Where the investigating judge decided to detain them until
20-4-950 to investigate their matter.
We will inform you about the amount of money smuggled with them.
Also, on 17-4-950, fifty
Baghdadi Jews were arrested by
The Basra police at the Maqil station upon
Their arrival from the train. They were brought
Under guard to the District Police Directorate where
The investigation is underway to find out the reasons for
Their departure from Baghdad, without informing
The competent departments in Baghdad. They had with them
Luggage that was light to carry and high in value, which
Confirms without a doubt that this
Convoy was fully prepared to escape
To Israel. It is worth mentioning
That within this convoy were two families: the first
Is the family of the Jewish dancer Badriya Habawi,
And the second is the family of the Jewish dancer
Ibtisam Youssef. Two photos were taken,
One of the luggage of this convoy and the second
Of the families of the two dancers. In the photo appeared
The dancer Ibtisam Youssef in conversation
With her family.
As for the dancer Badriya Habawi, she escaped

500 Jewish families in Basra
Prepare to renounce their Iraqi citizenship!
Al-Anba' al-Basriya newspaper said:
As a result of the general census that
took place in Basra in the year 947, it appeared that
the number of Jews registered in Basra
is nine thousand Jews, and it is taken from
registration statistics of Jews wishing
to renounce their Iraqi citizenship in Basra
that the number of those who asked the registration committee
to renounce their citizenship is 500 Jewish families, and if
we assume - at the lowest estimate - that every family
consists of four people among men, women,
and children, the number of Jews who applied
to renounce their Iraqi citizenship in Basra
would be two thousand Jews, and there remains from their original
number in Basra seven thousand Jews
waiting for their turn to renounce
Iraqi citizenship.

The rest of the most dangerous pickpocketing gang
With the names of some of them, he said that Haskil, Abid,
and Moshi, the sons of Nasrallah, are students of
Jassim. He also said that Jassim Safiyah carries
Haskil Nasrallah, who is 6 years old,
on his shoulder and passes through the crowded
markets with him. When penetrating these markets,
Haskil begins (snatching) fountain pens,
wallets, and eyeglasses from the pockets of passers-by.
Nuri also said that Shuly and Ezra, the sons of
Munshi's sister, are also pickpockets, and they are now
residing without honor at Baghdad Prison
for committing crimes of theft and pickpocketing. During
the search of Munshi's house, a letter was found
from (Mutawalli) asking his maternal uncle to
supply him with a quantity of (Red), and it appeared
that the intended (Red) is (Opium). Nuri also
said that the daughter and wife of Munshi are
professional pickpockets as well. As for the other criminal,
(Khalil Makki), the police are still
searching diligently for him, as he is a fugitive from
justice. Thus, the Abakhana police were able
to arrest the leaders of the most dangerous gang
for theft and pickpocketing. However, it is worth
mentioning that in the Abakhana police precinct,
as we have been informed, there is a large number of lawsuits in which
the investigation has not been completed and they have not been presented to the courts,
despite remaining since the era of the previous assistant
who was in this area during the era of the tyrant of
Baghdad (the Black Thief). If this indicates
anything, it indicates things that are not hidden from
the readers, nor are they hidden from His Excellency the Acting Director
General of Police, nor from the current Director of Baghdad Police,
and we hope the accused will be brought to
the courts to receive his punishment.
We will provide the readers with updates on this
case.
The rest of Fifty Jews
In front of the camera, she said to me: You will
regret this action on a day when no plea will
avail you, and I will send you these photos
by mail. To the officials, I write this
word so they may be aware of the matter of
the Jewish female dancers in Iraq and others from
the children of Israel, as it appears they are all
part of the Fifth Column without any doubt.
Furthermore, His Excellency the District Police Director,
Mr. Najib Ali, has instructed all his police
forces to exert maximum effort in tracking down
the fugitive Jews. These recurring cases
demonstrate the police's alertness and intense concern,
which warrants our thanks. I will update you
with what arises (Your Correspondent).
