His Excellency the President of the Lay Council, the Respected
Subject: - Endowments of Schools, Shamash, Nomi Torah
and Taqqaar ... etc.
After greetings,
I have been notified of the decision of the esteemed Lay Council, taken at its session held on 15 / 8 / 1952
regarding granting me an allowance of two and a half percent of the annual revenues of the school endowments,
Shamash, Nomi Torah, and Taqqaar - etc., for my management and collection of the revenues of the aforementioned endowments
in addition to our expenses and accounts, and since these allowances do not match the effort
required to be exerted for this purpose, and they do not exceed nine dinars per month (as the average
total annual revenue for these endowments is 4500 dinars), I request you to kindly present
the matter to the Lay Council to adjust this percentage to the limit where it becomes
parallel to the effort required in this regard.
Please accept, Your Excellency, the assurance of my highest respect.

Presidency of the Lay Council
Greetings,
1- In view of the unavailability of the Pyelosil material used in the X-ray department in the local markets
and due to its depletion in the hospital, we were forced to import 100 needles from England through the
Frank Strick Company. The aforementioned company has informed us of the arrival of the material in Baghdad and that the costs of these
needles equal 50/- Dinars.
2- We have previously sent an order to the Ilford Company in London to import X-ray films, and
the company estimated the arrival of the films within a period ranging between four and five months. The quantity of films in
the hospital store is on the verge of depletion, which means the X-ray department will stop working. Due to the inability of the
hospital fund <del>from</del> to purchase a quantity of films sufficient until the shipment arrives from London, because we are
serious about paying the salaries of employees and nurses for the month of August, we request the esteemed Council to kindly take
a preliminary decision to withdraw:
A- A check for the amount of 50/- Dinars to receive the Pyelosil needles from the Strick Company, as the
aforementioned company warned us of the necessity of receiving the materials and paying the price.
2- A check for the amount of 70/- Dinars to purchase a quantity of X-ray films locally until the
shipment arrives from London.
Please accept our highest respect.
