Fate has decreed that the poor Ibrahim Sassoon Kirkukli be a prisoner in Nugrat Salman as a result of
the sentence issued against him for a period of five years. He has served three years of the sentence.
Since the aforementioned has no family, no relatives, and no supporter, the previous Corporal Council, out of pity
for his condition, had allocated him a salary of four dinars per month starting from June 1953, and
he received these salaries until the end of November 1953, but your esteemed committee has cut off this
salary since December 1953.
It is not hidden from your Excellency that this ill-fated man is from the people of Hilla and from an ancient family
of lineage that had a position in the community's society, and he is a young man in the prime of his life, which is regrettable
because he has become a stranger and deprived of all his relatives and connections and has nothing but the mercy of God. Now he is in
a pitiable state because his health has deteriorated to the lowest degree and he is in need of medication and treatment and in
dire need of aid to save him from this poverty he is in. This situation has had a bad
effect on his health condition, which made him suffer the bitterness of torment. If he had any of his relatives
or family, they would have surely helped him and rescued him from this poverty and need into which he fell, but
as I mentioned before, he has no one of those mentioned, nor does he have money, cash, or anything else.
So, in order to alleviate the pains of this ill-fated man, I saw no choice but to knock on the door of your compassion, requesting a re-
examination of his case and the issuance of your Excellency's order to pay his accumulated salaries from December until
this date, and to increase his salary to a level that suits his miserable and unfortunate situation to rescue him from this
constant torment, and by that, history will immortalize a good memory for you, and your reward will be great in this world and the hereafter.
This, and the matter is up to your Excellency ⟦line⟧ July 12, 1954
