His Excellency the Chairman of the Administrative Committee, Respected.
After greetings,
I have been notified of the decision of the esteemed Administrative Committee in its letter numbered M/53/5 and dated
7/12/53 regarding the suspension of the monthly allowance allocated to me, amounting to 10 Dinars.
On this occasion, I present to the esteemed council the financial situation I am in, as I have no provider
to support me along with my imprisoned son, whose health has deteriorated as a result of the multiple surgeries
performed on him, and who has become in dire need of assistance.
I would like to clarify to the esteemed committee that I learned the reason for cutting off the monthly assistance
is that it is said I owned a house and sold it. I assure your honors that this news has no share of
truth at all, and the matter does not exceed the fact that I was an agent for one of my sons for his share at a rate of one-fifth,
and another fifth belongs to a person whose citizenship was revoked and thus frozen, and the rest belongs to another person.
The house was sold since the year 951, and the amount I received, which equals one-fifth and is a small
amount, was spent at the time on family members as fees and expenses for their travel outside Iraq. This
is all there is to the story of the house, and I believe the same subject was raised when the previous council decided on the mentioned allowance,
but after some of its members learned the truth and verified the matter, it was decided to grant me the mentioned allowance.
Based on the above, I hope the esteemed Administrative Committee will reconsider with an eye of compassion
my matter in light of what was stated above and reinstate the allowance allocated to me, with which alone I can
support my imprisoned son. I pray to God to grant you success in doing good.
Please accept my highest respect.

His Excellency the Chairman of the Administrative Committee of the Jewish Community in Baghdad, the respected
Through the Principal of Frank Iny School
After greetings: -
I had submitted a letter to your respected committee requesting the allocation of a monthly salary for my services
in the school in the amount of twelve dinars per month, and this amount is the minimum I can accept
to continue teaching under the current situation.
However, unfortunately, your respected committee did not pay attention to my request and decided to approve giving me
500/- five hundred fils for each lecture at a time when I did not request approval for something
that was already decided and recorded in the school books before I presented my simple request to you.
So I hope for approval to give me a monthly salary of 12/- twelve dinars per month,
i.e., 144/- one hundred and forty-four dinars annually, starting from the opening of the school
until the end of the year, similar to my fellow teachers.
Knowing that I have not stopped teaching until now and will remain until the end of the current
month until I know the result. Sincerely yours,
The Teacher
