Greetings
Upon the travel of Professor Nazim Meir, he assigned me to teach the subject of (Religion) in
this school for five lessons per week in his place, and the administration paid me -/400
four hundred fils for each lecture in the past academic year.
Since I am unable to continue teaching at these low wages compared to what I was,
I apologized for continuing this year. However, due to the lack of a competent teacher
to teach this subject at the present time, the community administration requested me to continue
until they find someone else or the wages are adjusted so that it becomes a monthly salary of
twelve dinars, i.e., -/144 annually, which is the minimum amount I can accept
and continue teaching for.
If it is not possible to pay me this salary, I hope that
this letter will be considered as my resignation, and I am ready to teach throughout
this month even for free until someone is appointed to teach in my place.
Please inform me before the end of the twelfth month of the year 1952 so that I can
arrange my affairs. I would appreciate it if you would allow me to meet you and present the matter
in detail to your honors - noting that the community administration has verbally promised me to settle
the situation on this basis, but I have not been officially notified until now.
Thanking you in advance,

To the Honorable President of the Administrative Committee of the Jewish Community in Baghdad
After greetings,
Since one of the commercial establishments has offered me a job with a monthly
salary of seventy-five dinars, provided that I start work at the beginning
of next month, I cannot - in this case - work at the Community Presidency for less
than the aforementioned salary. Therefore, I kindly ask you to inform me of your esteemed committee's opinion
regarding approval or rejection, hoping at the same time that this will be before the end
of the current month so that I may join the new job or remain in my position.
With highest respect to you,
Sincerely,
